Caritas - Monday evening [Open]

Jolee was here. The bar was open. Tino was taking care of things for a little bit while Jolee was reading a newspaper. The fact that the newspaper was very close to his face - perhaps even on his face - and there were strange, snoring-type sounds coming from under it. He was a very thorough reader.

[OOC: I'm settling in after flying back from the Land of Being 30 Degrees Warmer Than Chicago Today, so Jolee will be quiet until about 7 Central Time. Mod Tino for speedy service before then or you can wait for Jolee.

John didn't end up having to drag Molly and Rikku, so much as guide them to the stage. Everyone was pretty happy at this point in the evening. He spoke quietly to the zombies before they began their group sing-along of Stronger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jzSh_MLNcY&feature=related). It was a good anthem. So they belted it.

When they finished, the trio cheered (because they were cheerleaders, duh) and returned to their table for more nefarious plotting.

Molly made her way up to the stage on her own this time. She sang the song that John picked for her.

Rikku bounced up to the stage and had a quick whispered conference with the zombies. Being a little drunk helped her voice be less chirpy than its usual. Which was totally required if you were going for grrl-grunge shouty stuff. And she was.

And then she had to stop and take several large breaths. And thank the zombies for rocking the hell out of those guitars. And find her seat again and fall over into it.

Drink.

John wasn't new to drinking away the emo, so he thought he'd get a drink from the bar before heading to the lounge to wait for the ladies.

"Hey, how about a beer?" he asked the elderly bartender.

Relax.

Beer in one hand while the other threw darts ~~assuming the board was still there~~, John waited for Rikku and Molly to arrive.

His aim was not improving as he continued to drink.

Molly wandered in and went over to join John. She poked him in the arm. "Why am I here?" she asked.

"Because I heard somewhere that it's just sad to drink alone," he replied, smiling.

"Are we drinking tonight?" she asked. "And am I helping you drink or are you helping me drink?"

"I'm drinking!" Rikku announced, bopping into the lounge holding a fuzzy navel. She'd grown fond of them, okay? "But only if this is, like, a let's party kinda drinking? I'm not supposed to do the other kind any more."

"This is anti-mope drinking," John assured her, tossing a dart and sending it way wide. Yes, he'd gotten a head start with the alcohol. "The goal is fun."

"I could use some anti-mope," Molly said, eyeing John's toss. "I don't usually drink though. What should I start with?"

"You can try some of mine, if you want," Rikku said, holding her glass out. "It's all orangey and I don't know what's in it. Peach Schnapps, I think? It's good. I start sipping one and then boom, I've had five."

Molly took it and tried a sip. "Ooo! That's yummy," she said, handing it back. "I could drink that."

"So fruity drinks all around?" This was not like going out with the guys. "I'll be right back." He wandered over to the bar to get some drinks from Tino.

Rikku pulled out a chair and settled in. "I guess we're lightweights?" she laughed. "Uh, I am. I kinda stick with the stuff that doesn't taste all yucky."

"I don't know if I'm a lightweight or not," Molly said with a shrug. "I guess we'll find out."

Returning with a tray of fruity drinks and beers, John took a seat at the table. "There we are. Let's see how fast you two can join me in the hammered section of the bar."

"I get hammered pretty fast," Rikku chirped. "Especially last time 'cause I was drinking stuff that tasted like paint thinner and then I blacked out and I woke up on Deadpool's couch?"

She fidgeted. "Sorry. It's been a crappy month. Uh. Is that why we're drinking? The anti-mope thing?"

Molly pouted and snagged a drink. "Yes," she said and took a drink. "Boys suck, except you, John, and I'm not having one anymore."

"I can't say I don't agree," John said, drinking deeply of beer number three. "But I'm more on the girls suck end of things presently."

He paused before adding, "We should sing about it."
