Magic Box - Tuesday

Giles was in a slightly better mood today, feeling like he was getting back into the routine here in Fandom. As weird as the place was, it was currently far easier to deal with -- even with having Faith as a neighbour -- than the situation back in Sunnydale.

He hadn't even called since he had left and while part of him thought he should, just to check in, a larger part of him just didn't want to deal with it all. Not yet.

So instead, he worked on moving some of the inventory around and planning out a holiday sale.

The Magic Box was open.

Robin decided to stop by to see what was up. "Mr. Giles! You're back!"

Giles smiled at the small frog. "I am. Did you have any trouble with the shop when I was gone?"

"Nope everything went fine." he assured his boss. "Did you have a nice trip?"

Finally getting around to exploring the town on her own, Renee made her way into a shop she really hopped sold top hats and bunnies. She sipper her to go cup from The Perk as she looked around.

"Hello?"

Giles looked up from where he was arranging some of the jars of spell components. "Hello. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Eying a particularly odd thing in a jar, Renee shook her head. "Not really." Magic was usually a bad thing in her experience. "Just getting a feel for the town."

"New here, are you?" Giles asked. He hadn't seen her before, but small town or not, he couldn't be sure he'd met everyone.

Smirking mostly at herself, Renee nodded, turning to face Giles. "Either this really is a small town or I look confused enough to give that away."

"A little of both actually," Giles told her with a faint smile.

"Detective Montoya," She offered, giving him a real smile. "How long did it take you to get used to this place?"

"Rupert Giles." Giles returned her smile full watt. "Not long, but I had the advantage of living somewhere equally strange before I moved here."

Renee just looked around the shop. "I thought my home town was less than normal too. And then I met a kid with a fish for an arm."

"That... would definitely fall under the unsual," Giles said. "Even here."

"I'd hope so," Renee replied, nodding and looking rather disturbed by the prospect of that being normal.

"There was the one time back in Sunnydale when the high school swim team started turning into fishmen..." Giles said.

Renee blinked, but only a little. You got used to things like that in Gotham. "Better than clowns," She muttered.
