Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [ 11/28 ]

"Nothing interesting ever happens on Wednesday," Turtle grumped, slightly, as she slouched on the counter and waited for customers. She was completely unaware, clearly, of the Epic Battle happening is Aisle Seven between Liz and the Chew Toy from Heck.

The mundane "Help Wanted" sign was still in the window.

Today's Squishy flavors: Mocha, Caramel, Grape Judas

Turtle & Canary is open.

He's having his own Epic Battle with a box of paper clips.

Fighting off her boredom. Poorly.

And, sneaky like a ninja. A ninja who had been waiting far too long and kinda had to go to the bathroom, Deadpool waited.

And waited.

And waited more.

(OH, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO SOMETHING!)

Until Turtle's attention was elsewhere for a moment. And then suddenly there was a cake (http://www.creativecakes.co.za/gfx/horse.jpg") on the counter. He had to hunt down a game of Monopoly for the money in it's little ganache covered hoof.

And he was gone!

To use the bathroom.

"What the..." Turtle turned back around only to discover a cake. A pony cake. She blinked at it and then sucked in a breath between her teeth. She had got to start paying more attention at work! Knowing full well how often, though, that she'd mentioned ponies and cakes in radio, she figured that the intentions were good, but she wasn't going to take any chances.

"Hey, Apu! Come try this, tell me," if it's poisoned, "if it's any good."

Marco came in with a sign that said HELP in big letters. "Turtle?"

Turtle blinked at the sign. "...Marco?" she said, carefully, head tilting in suspicion. And also slightly wondering why there was, she was sure of it, absolutely no such thing as a normal boy.

"I read your sign and figured I would help." Marco handed over the sign with a grin.

Turtle narrowed her eyes, took the sign, and then stretched over the counter to whap Marco (lightly) with it. "Stupid, literal-minded male brain," she muttered with a shake her head. "But it's okay, you can't help it, it's just your chromosomes. I'd still hire you despite that flaw, though, if you're really interested in what the sign really meant."

Marco didn't even try to duck out of the way as he laughed. "Me? Work? You're funny!"

"So's your face," Turtle retorted and stuck out her tongue to show Marco that she was mostly joking. "And I don't know what you're talking about. I'm sure you'd make an exemplary employee, sitting there, turning into a jackalope or a baboon and not being as cute as Anders and everything."

"I can't turn into a jackalope or a baboon." Marco pointed out. "And I am so much cuter than him. Even he agrees." He may have been stretching the truth there. A lot.

"Oh, yeah, right," Turtle said skeptically. "I'm going to ask him first thing next time I see him, and we'll just see about that. And if he does say so, well, then, he's clearly just doing it because he's modest, which, by the way, only adds to why he's cuter."

Sorry so late! Interview was followed by lunch!
