Leaning against the counter as she settled in for another exciting (yeah, right) day at Turtle & Canary, Turtle let out a slight sigh, looking past the "Now Hiring" sign in the window out toward the streets of Fandom. It didn't snow nearly enough around here. She missed lake effect.

Of course, if it were snowing more, Turtle would be sighing and thinking it snowed way too much.

Today's Squishy flavors: Hypocrisy, Grape Judas, Cookie Dough.

"TURTLE!"

Jeff was very well aware of the fact that he wanted to. His psyche made it impossible for him to deny this even if he was inclined to. "Breath mints!" he called excitedly.

Ah, those dulcet tones. Turtle half-winced, half-smiled, and commented, "You didn't forget."

"It's important," Jeff explained, sticking his hands in his pockets once he'd managed to actually come to a running stop. Against the counter. "Morning breath is now number sixteen on the list."

"What list?" Turtle asked, wondering if she'd wished that she hadn't.

"You know," Jeff said, looking earnest, "The list of potential hazards."

"What's number o--"

Yeah, Turtle definitely caught herself before asking that one.

"Never mind!"

Turtle was in fact, just who Billy had come looking for.

"Hey, Eyepatch," Turtle greeted him when he came in. "What'cha in for today?"

Ooh. Stuff! "Thanks, Billy!" Turtle beamed a little, and then wrinkled her nose. "Now I guess I'll have to give you something."

Billy laughed. "I wouldn't say no, but you don't have to sound so enthusiastic about it."

"'Tis the season," Turtle chirped, "to be disgruntled about even exchange!"

"Heh heh. Tell you what, consider it a thank you for your continuing good advice on the stock market."

Even if he's slightly out of regular order. Shhh.
