The Arms Hotel Lobby, Monday [12/24]

Mary was at the front desk, putting the finishing touches on her present for George Michael. She was in a very good mood and there wasn't anything that could possibly ruin this Christmas for her, not even the prospect of spending time with his family.

Even with the absence of Gunther's gingerbread monstrosity, the lobby still looked festive. Gunther had gone overboard setting up a magnificent Christmas tree decorated with hand-blown glass ornaments, twinkling lights, popcorn garlands and a lovely star at the top. There was even a little train set circling the tree. It was amazing that he even found time to cook.

Stan walked in, looking around, wondering where the gingerbread Vegas went.

"Hey Stan," said Mary. "Merry Christmas!"

"Merry Christmas to you, too!" he replied. "It looks different here without the Vegas."

"Gunther's already found something to keep himself busy," said Mary, waving at the elaborate Christmas tree. "Do you have plans for tomorrow? I'm heading off tonight to visit the boyfriend's family."

"No, just a quiet night on the island, here," he smiled. Or was planning on a quiet night, no matter what Fandom was thinking.

"Well, you never know in Fandom. Maybe Christmas elves will show up in the park with a magical tree and it will turn into an instant party," suggested Mary. "At least you won't have GOB staring at your chest."

"Actually, I would find it very disturbing if anyone were to stare at my chest." He tilted his head at her. "GOB? Michael's family?"

"George Michael's family. He said everyone's going to be there, including GOB. I'll be avoiding him as much as possible," said Mary.

"Oh, Mary," he said sadly. "That's the downside of dating someone. They come with family." He smiled a tiny bit. "You going to be all right?"

"I'll be fine. The upside of dating someone makes up for putting up with their family," said Mary.

"That is true," he agreed, a far-away look in his eyes. "When are you leaving?"

"Right after my shift ends today," said Mary.

"Oh. Well, then, if I don't get to say it before you leave, Merry Christmas. You'll be back for the new year?"

"Of course! I hear that there's a big New Year's party, and you know I'm not one to miss a party," said Mary with a big grin.

"Excellent! I'll see you there, if not before. You should drop by the house. I'll keep some eggnogg for you."

Sean made his way downstairs and over to Mary, because he had a Christmas present for her so why not give it to her now?

"Hi Sean. Merry Christmas!" said Mary, smiling.

"Merry Christmas to you, too!" Sean replied cheerfully. "Got a present for you."

"Oh, you didn't have to do that!" said Mary.

Why? So I can pimp my canon!

Tuesday morning at 12 noon EST, TNT is showing an episode of Las Vegas called "Tainted Love (http://www.tnt.tv/schedule/daily/?oid=12/25/2007EST0)." Dean Cain makes his first appearance as Casey Manning, Sam freaks out when her estranged husband shows up after an absence of seven years, and Mary has to deal with a client who thinks her breasts bring him good luck.

You mean Mary's breasts don't bring people good luck? They should!

Well, in this case, Mary's lucky breasts also came with Danny, a couple gaming officials, and a massive investigation into the client's gambling. But his horse won, so I'd say it's a mixed bag.

So we'll say Mary's breasts have the potential to bring good luck.

There is a certain amount of amusement to be had in using the journal of my adorable little gay boy to have this conversation.
