Turtle & Canary; Saturday [ 12/29 ]
Leave it to a girl like Turtle Wexler to, after a week of being away, have the first thing she did when she got back to Fandom Island is go directly to the store. "You're still here!" she declared happily. "You didn't get blown up!" Promptly she put her arms against Turtle & Canary in as best a hug as one could manage when you were a little fifteen year old girl and it was a large building, and then she remembered that she was wearing the smart business suit that her parents had gotten her and Baba had fitted and she just as promptly stepped back. She smoothed out her jacket, brushed off her pants, squared her shoulders, and opened the shop.
She sighed happily as she settled behind the counter. "Oh, I missed you, store!"
Today's Squishy flavors: Banana, Red, Grape Judas
Turtle & Canary is open!

Talk to Turtle -- 12/29
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 12/29
Jeff came storming in as was his wont. "Sandwiches have returned! And I brought Christmas!"
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 12/29
The sandwiches were good to hear of, because she'd missed breakfast for the sake of her early flight. However, she was willing to contest the other part. "How could you have brought Christmas? It's kind of come and passed."
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 12/29
After a week without Turtle, even Jeff no longer had any idea what he was saying.
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 12/29
"Did you mean, like, Christmas presents?" she tried, because it dawned on her that they hadn't yet exchanged gifts or anything like that and she did have her gift for him in one of the suitcases tucked under the counter. "Because you can bring those."
Now watch, this is where she'd see another light of horror on Jeff's face because he'd forgotten or something and she'd have to witness him scramble to pretend that he hadn't forgotten at all.
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 12/29
Jeff started rummaging away in his pocket. "Christmas presents! Of course. 'Cos it's Christmas, and then there's presents." He laughed nervously. "'Bringing Christmas', really, what was I, mad?"

Turtle was hard to shop for. He'd just gone on instinct. And now he was a bit embarrassed.
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 12/29
"Your present's in my suitcase," Turtle said. "I can dig it out for you when I unpack later. I can help you set it up. It's a new phone. One that has caller ID."

He still felt badly about the socks.

And then there was Jeff, doing his best impression of a clingy monkey. "You are the best girlfriend ever." Pause. "I'm sorry about the socks."
