Since Annette was in town... T&C, the church... she decided to pop into Luke's.

Bouncing up to the counter, she grinned wide. "Can I have ahhhhhhhlemmeseee... big, fat dill pickle?"

A.J. stared a little wide-eyed at Annette for a second before his jaw shifted slightly, and he let out a laugh. He shook his head. "I...I'm not even touching that one, Annette. Nuh-uh. Too easy."

She blinked innocently. "What? I'm totally serious. You know those ones that come in those huge gallon containers? Come on, every diner has 'em." Yep, still with the innocent though her lips quirked ever so slightly. "You're telling me there are no big, fat dill pickles here?"

A.J. fought against being tight-lipped, and failed. "You are evil," he announced, instead. "Evil incarnate, and I hate you."

Annette mock pouted. "Ah, that's not nice. I'm just trying to satisfy a certain craving for pickles. I, uh, woke up this morning thinking... 'Man, if only I had a big fat pickle. Mmmm. Sure would make my day'."

Blink.

"Okay, do you have any big fat pickle substitutes?" She might be a little evil. But only a little.

That, matched up all too easily with A.J.'s memory of the party, were leading to some very....interesting conclusions about Annette's current sex life that he was politely, for her sake and his, trying to ignore. Trying to. He wasn't doing a very good job, turning pink as he tried to grin it off casually. "I'm just teasing you," he said. "Of course we have some. Like you said, don't all dinners have..."

A.J. sighed, because he couldn't believe he was about to say this, "big, fat, juicy dill pickles."

His face was so red that, matched with the green hair, he probably resembled a damn elf that was just a wee bit late for Christmas. He gave Annette a firm look. She'd better freakin' appreciate the things he did to appease her, maaan.

She giggled and folded her arms across the countertop. His blushing was so cute that she couldn't help but enjoy it. "The juicy one's are the best. I like trying to stick the whole thing in my mouth just to lick and suck the juice off." What? It really was true.

The firm look made her tilt her head, made her feel slight, were talking eensy weensy teeny tiny here, minor guilt... But the look in her eyes ought to let him know she was just teasing him. Having fun, not at his expense, just having fun in general.

"Pick me out a good one, kay?"

"Oh, God," A.J., rolling his eyes, couldn't not laugh at that, although if the burning in his face was any indication, it was all mostly nerves. He shook his head, grateful that he had to turn to get to the big jar of pickles. He was so going to get her back for this one; he had to. He had no idea how, but...he'd...think of something. Eventually. maybe. Hopefully.

"What?" he asked once he felt the blush went down enough that he could fire back. "Don't trust yourself to be able to pick a good one yourself?"

"Yeah, I trust myself. I just wanted to see you dig it out for me," she grinned, staring at his burning face and green hair and thinking that yeah, too bad Christmas has passed. He would just need a cute little elf outfit and he'd be good to go.

Pulling the jar over to her, Annette unscrewed the lid and peered inside. Really, she wasn't going to go digging, she just pulled out the pickle that floated closest to the surface and giggled as the juice began to run. "Oooh!" Tilting her face back, she held the end with her fingertips and opened her mouth, doing just what she told him she did with pickles like this. She wrapped her lips around it and began to suck off the juice.

A.J. told himself that Annette wasn't going to do that. He told himself that the other night was just a fluke and she'd had too much to drink, and that, if it wasn't, and Annette was</i. going to do that, then he would totally laugh it off and look away and pretend that he actually had work to do. But then Annette actually did it, and A.J. found that it was all nice and good to think you were going to do something but that, in the moment, all you could do was just gawk for a moment. Because...yeah. After a moment, though, he shook his head, clearing his throat a little as he rubbed his chin a little and asked, "I, uh...um, anythi...er, um, don't tell me that's all you want for lunch. Anything else I can get you?" Please let it not be dirty, please let it not be dirty, please let it not be dirty... He wasn't sure he could handle more dirty.

Annette rolled her tongue around the end of the pickle before she took a decent sized bite, knowing good and well A.J. was watching her. "Mmmm," she murmured as she chewed then swallowed. Licking her fingers, she thought about his question. "Well, I don't know. Got any hot weiners back there?"
