Turtle & Canary; Monday [ 01/07 ]
Forcing herself to hide a very large yawn behind her hand, Turtle leaned on the counter. She wished she didn't feel so tired; she had a lot of paperwork to do! She was thinking of blaming on the higher altitude of Jeff's room. Even at Sunset Towers, they'd only lived on the third floor. So, yup. That had to be it.
Plus, she had a new sign to put up: "Now Hiring! Only one shift left! Don't let your chance to work with one of the best employers in the village! Great benefits, free Squishies! Inquire within!"
Today's Squishy flavors: Grape Judas, Cherry, Mixed Nuts
Turtle & Canary is open!

"Free Squishies?"
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 01/07
"If," she said, very particularly as she eyed Jamie, "you work here, yeah."
But, on the other hand, she reminded herself, she did hire Sokka...and Jamie could probably get a lot of work done in one day. She'd just have to make it clear that duplicates did not get paid extra.

minionsemployees. Plus, radio. Jeff gets upset if he has to report someone else opening. I don't know. I don't bother trying to understand. But our radio day might change, anyway, right?"Her head tilted, eying Jamie thoughtfully. "Hold on one second, okay? While I go to the back and get the paperwork that you'll need to fill out."

She returned, plopping the large packet of papers onto the counter and let out a breath as if it had been heavy to carry up. "Don't be too intimidated by the length. There are a lot of 'see section a' or 'continue on page seven if...'s, due to the fact that there's all the different worlds and dimensions and species I have to deal with here."

Turtle, while willing to allow Bart the upperhand on the SquishyBot's name, was not willing to compromise its gender.
And, in fact, Bob was already in the process of getting Sky his order.

Smooth, Tate. Very smooth.

This was not an idle question. Bob was routinely eating up most of his paycheck.

He grimaced.
"...Is there a... limit on free Squishies?"
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 01/07
"Well, there isn't a specific number," Turtle said, adding, hastily, "yet," because she was now thinking that, between Sokka and Jamie, she might have to specify. "But if you do something like drain a whole flavor jug in one day, there might be some penalties and restrictions."
Re: Talk to Turtle -- 01/07
He took a sip of his Squishy and looked down at the money that he'd been going to hand her. "Does it apply when we're off-duty, too?"
...The fine print? Sokka never signed ANYTHING without reading the fine print. Well, usually never. The employment contract was different, because there had been so MUCH of it. He'd read the first page or two and glanced at the rest.

"Well, at least Liz loves me."
He would have asked for his money back, except... she had been sort of reluctant to give him the job, and he didn't want to push his luck. Besides, he had a vague idea that he was, in fact, way over any sort of limit that Turtle might reasonably set.
