Pizza Planet: Tuesday Evening

Kara Kent thrummed her fingertips at her table at Pizza Planet, waiting nervously for her date to show up. In all honesty, she really shouldn't have been that nervous, considering that her last date with him had gone exceedingly well, but still, one could never help but be nervous. She quickly checked her watch. She was still five minutes early.

And Billy was four minutes early.

"Hey I'm looking for a hot blond." he teased her. "You seen one anywhere?"

Kara looked up, her face brightening up immediately.

"Just the one you're looking at right now, stranger. I hope your hot blonde won't mind if you sit with me for a few minutes," she said as she gestured to the empty seat.

"Well it's her fault for not showing up." he grinned, sitting down. "You have any classes yet?"

Kara chuckled. "Just one about Criminal Justice with a costumed clown named Deadpool. It was interesting, mostly. I had to convince him that my legs were better than his. I think he agreed."

Billy laughed. "Yeah Deadpool's an interesting guy." he agreed. "And yeah, your legs are totally better than his."

Kara grins at him. "You really think so?" She leans in closer on the table.

"I really do. In fact I think most of you is better looking than Deadpool. Except maybe the clothes. That guy is one snazzy dresser."

Kara's eyes widen. "Tell me you're kidding!" she said, chuckling. "That's just terrible!"

"I'm kidding. The style does remind me of folks back home though."

"Deadpool's? It's interesting. Very costumey." Very reminiscent of what she'd seen Green Arrow wear in those pics of his.

"It's similar to what the military and some of the bad guys wear in my world."

"Your...world sounds very interesting. And colorful. He's not from your world, is he?"

"No I'm pretty sure I've had heard of him. But my world is both those things. Interesting and colorful. Not always pleasant, but it has it's moments."

"I understand that," Kara said, nodding. "My world's a bit weird that way too. A lot weird, actually. We've got some...happily costumed crimefighters were I come from."

"Really? Cool. I never really went in for the whole costume thing. Except on Halloween."

"That's too bad. You'd look pretty hot in a costume," Kara said. "Depending on what the costume was." Because he needs to not come out dressed as a giant banana wearing pajamas.

"Well I do have the standard ninja uniform."

"Are you a ninja?" she asked, intrigued.

Billy pulled up the right sleeve of his shirt, revealing a red, staccato tatoo on his forearm. "This is the symbol for the Arashikage Ninja Clan. They adopted me when I was 10." After a bit of hesitation he added; "After things with my dad went further south than they already were."

"Was your dad crazy and evil too?" she asks, her eyes fixated on the red tattoo. It's rather sexy. As is his muscular forearm. "Or is this not a topic for a second date?"

Hmm, well he had brought it up. "I'll go with, yes he is, and for now leave it at that. ...Too?" He looked at her quizzically.

"My father...I'd thought he was a good man. For the longest time. I recently discovered that he was...not. And possibly responsible for the destruction of my homewo...of my home."

Billy understood patriarchal betrayal all to well, and his hand reached for one of hers. The other hand reached briefly for his eyepatch. "I'm sorry." he said sincerely.

"Hey...don't worry about it." She gave him a soft smile as she gently squeezed his hand. "It's part of the reason my cousin Clark sent me here. To get away from all of it." She notes the hand going to the eyepatch and then asks, "Is that because of your father, Billy?"

"At least indirectly. Though I suspect directly. Sort of. I'm honestly not sure how it happened, I was uconcious at the time. But I suspect my father was involved." In the interest of full disclosure he knocked on his right leg with a soft *bong*. "I lost a leg the same time."
