Turtle and Canary, Thursday [01-10]

Sokka was kind of grumpy today. Even Squishies didn't make life better, because he could feel Bob staring at him.

So he opened a panel on her back, temporarily disconnected a few things, and had some small bit of revenge on both Bob and Zuko for the day.

Squishy flavors: Biscuits and Country Gravy, Blue, Red Out of order because the Fire Nation SUCKS

Jack was hungry. Hungry, Jack, Hungry. Munchies? SQUISHY!

"Hey! Crazy guy! Gimme squishys!" He waved. And stared at the Squishy machine. "Why's all the rum Red gone?"

"Wait. Why's Red bad? It makes purple. And it's the color of stop lights and warning things and police sirens. Okay. That's bad. And... biscuits and gravy? In a squishy?" He bleh-ed.

"I think it's safe to say I haven't lived, then," he said, giving the Squishy machine the stinkeye. "Are you sure you just didn't break it?"

No Grape Judas. The one thing Sky was sure would console him was not at Turtle and Canary. And his second choice, his favorite color, red, did not even work! Sky resisted the urge to pout, and instead approached Sokka, clearing his throat.

"Er, good afternoon. Uh, may I ask why the red Squishy flavor is out of order? ... And, ah, why there's no Grape today?"

Sky quickly zipped his jacket up all the way, hoping Sokka hadn't noticed his red shirt. Not that he was afraid, he just didn't want to be labeled as bad because of his favorite color.

"Oh, I see. Uh, is blue any good, then?" he asked. Blue could be OK. Blue plus red made purple. And he wasn't too keen on the idea of biscuits and gravy.

"Biscuits and gravy?" Sky repeated uncertainly. "Hmm, I think I'll pass on that one for today, but I will trust your judgement on the... ah... inherent awesometude of blue. I'll take a medium, please."

"I actually haven't tried the Red yet, either," Sky replied, taking a sip. "Grape is my favorite, so that's all I've had since I got here last week. Hmm. I think Blue will fit the bill quite nicely, though; thanks for the recommendation." He handed Sokka his money (in exact change, of course). "Oh, by the way, I don't think we've met yet. I'm Sky. New student here."

Turtle was absolutely here because she had some paperwork to do in the office. Really. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was Thursday and, therefor, Sokka's day. Nope. Not at all.

"Hey, So--" Turtle stared at the the SquishyBot. "Out of Order? Sokka! What did you do to it?"

"What," Turtle emphasized, wondering if she should just be glad it was a technical malfunction instead of Bad Red again or if she should be genuinely annoyed, "are you talking about?"

"You can't just cut productivity based on a vendetta, Sokka!" Turtle said, desperately. "By depriving the customers of a third option, especially one of the popular, consistent ones, you're like...you might as well close down, like, a third of the store and be all, 'okay, folks, sorry, no shopping here today!' So, yes, fix it, please! And no more doing things like that unless it's absolutely necessary!"

She threw in a slightly pouty look at the end of that schpiel for good measure.

Turtle watched Sokka carefully as he turned the Red back on, arms crossed over her chest. Only when she got an assuring glance from the robot eyes of the SquishyBot did she allow herself to nod slightly. "Good. So. Other than attempting to drop my sales, Sokka, how've things gone today?"
