Groovy Tunes; Friday [ 01/11 ]

Chad came into work wondering what sort of project he could do today to make life easier for people. His usual solution of taking care of really high up things didn't seem like an option, because there currently didn't seem to be anything. He figured maybe he'd go through the shelves in between customers, then, and make sure everything was still alphabetically ordered.

He got half-way through the the Cs before he decided that he really didn't want to do do this, so he just went back behind the counter and played his guitar.

Or at him. Same thing.

Teddy wasn't going to talk at him.

Really.

"Hey!" He grinned, walking up to the counter.

"Hey," Chad gave a light grin back, his attention focused on his strings for a bit until he finished a chord or two before stopping. He shifted the guitar over so he could lean in and give Teddy a better greeting in the form of a light kiss. "S'up?"

Kissing was never to be turned down. Unless the dog drool happened again, but that was different. "It's the weekend." Teddy kissed him again. "I think that means a celebration."

And there were ways to get around the dog drool, too. Glad to receive another kiss, he grinned a little bit again. "That warrants celebration, huh?"

"Always," Teddy replied, totally serious. Really. This was his serious face.

"What are you going to do to celebrate?" Chad asked, despite not buying the serious face for a moment, but also not one to turn out a celebration.

"Friday? Maybe being able to come over and bother my boyfriend at work? Hairless kittens?"

Okay, now he was just reaching.

Chad could tell that these were very well thought-out plans, yes. Not that he was complaining, though, because they worked out well for him. "And Saturday?" he asked.

Another kiss, slow and lazy. "Being able to sleep over with my boyfriend?"

"That could be doable," Chad decided after a moment and another kiss. "Gotta make dinner for homework. You should let me do that for you."

"Dinner?" Teddy looked impressed. "What will you make?"

"Well, I gotta make a salad, 'cause that was the assignment," Chad said, leaning on the counter, thoughtfully and carefully. "Not sure what else; anything you want me to try?"

"Haku mentioned that too," He said, leaning against the counter as well. Though much less carefully. "Can it be any kind of salad?"

"Uhhhh..."

As the seconds ticked on, it might have been a little difficult to tell if Chad hadn't answered because he wasn't sure, or because he'd shut down. Just when the worry of the second option might start setting in, though, he started again.

"Don't know. Was a pretty basic salad in class, but I don't see why it can't be a different kind."

Teddy was patient.

And used to this.

"Maybe a bunch of salads? I'll help!" A beat. "Probably with moral support."

"Bunch of salads could work," Chad agreed. "Good. There's our plans, then."

And having established plans meant another kiss.

And another kiss he got.

"Tomorrow?"

Chad nodded. "After sleeping in really late? Think you can come over when I get out of work?"

"If Katara doesn't mind, of course."

Like it was possible to turn down spending the night with him. Even just sleeping.

"I don't know," Chad said. "You know Katara. She can't stand you an' everything."

"Hates me, I know." Another quick kiss.

Mmmm, kiss.

"She can deal."

Teddy snickered, breaking up the game. "Dork."

"Look who's talking, Comic Book Boy."

Yes. It would always come around to the comic books in the end.

Oh-ho!

Look who wanted to play. "Name five bands that inspired punk."

Chad got about three minutes into his insanely detailed answered before, dragging off "...repeat three chor--" to a sudden stop. He blinked.

"...Shut up."

Which got him a kiss on the cheek. "Dork!"

"Yeah, but you like it," Chad pointed out.

"I love it."

And, wouldn't you know, that got Teddy not only a kiss, but quite possibly the biggest smile Chad's had in a few weeks.

Chuckling into the kiss, Teddy grabbed him by the front of his shirt. "Like I would want anyone less dorky," He teased.

"You'd have nothing to talk about," Chad said, letting his shirt be grabbed but not until after he got another kiss out of it.

You know. As if they talk tons all the time.

They talked!

Before kissing. After kissing.

"Like you know my comics that well," Teddy replied, pulling back a little.

"Hey, you don't know my music that well, either," Chad countered, leaning in for another kiss. See? Before kissing, and after it. "S'good to have separate interests, anyway."

Browse the shelves, but watch for kittens underfoot!
