Book Haven, Monday

After a quiet weekend, Seregil arrived for his first shift bright and early. He put out the pastries and brewed some tea for any customers who might want some, took some for himself and settled down with a book he'd picked off the shelves at random.

One of the best parts of being in a new dimension was the sheer amount of new reading material there was for him. Between that and the television device he thought there might actually be enough distractions to keep him from getting bored or depressed.

For a little while at least.

At some point during the morning Millie stopped in, just to see if Seregil needed anything. "Good morning," she said brightly. "How are you today?"

Seregil put down the book he was reading and smiled. "I'm good," he said.

"Wonderful," Millie said brightly. "Any problems or questions?"

"Nothing I can think of. It's been quiet so far." Another grin. "Which has given me some time for reading. Although, if there's anything else you want me to do...?"

"No," Millie said cheerfully. "Just wanted to poke my head in and make sure you didn't need anything."

"No, I'm good," Seregil said. He waved a hand at all the books around them. "I think there's enough here to keep me occupied for months."

"Wonderful then," Millie said with a smile. "I'll just be upstairs if you need me!"
