The Beach (Galactica Point) - Saturday Morning
Rex wasn't sure how he'd gotten to the beach or where the now familiar New York skyline was. Maybe Captain Neweyes had transported him here while he was asleep. Eh. These things happen. "Well, could be worse. At least it's not Jersey."

So far, all he'd been able to determine was that he was on an island, that he was alone, and that this horse had been a good find. Where find means steal, but these things were sometimes necessary.
He looked up, saw the giant beast, and reined Gawain in abruptly, the horse neighing a protest he ignored as he strung his bow.

Yeah. That was going to work.

Or it would have been absolute precision, had Gawain not chosen that moment to dig his heels in and half-rear, whether at the treatment or the dinosaur (which, Trenor still being Trenor, whatever the madman on his back chose to call him, remembered with no fondness at all).

"Poking your eye out is the point of things!" he yelled, wrestling Gawain into a sweating, nervous tight-paced circle. "I am a Sarmatian Knight and I don't care if you are the size of a mountain, I will not allow you to run rampant across this island!"

Killing held no joy for him, and this was a place like none he'd ever seen. "Are you telling me you're not here to attack?"

Galahad lowered the bow, patting Gawain's sweat soaked neck as the horse danced sideways. "You could be biding your time," he pointed out, almost on the verge of dismissing all of this as a dream.
Maybe he had a fever? They could bring on strange visions. "If you are not here to fight, then what are you doing here?"

"A question I wish I could answer. I woke up in a strange stable, where I found this horse. My comrades are nowhere to be seen, and we seem to be stranded on this island," he said, letting his bow rest on his thigh, the string loosened.
Trenor flattened his ears and tried to slide sideways from under the crazy person riding him.
Galahad sat the motion easily. "You are the first...creature I've encountered."

Trenor was more than happy to back away. So happy, in fact, that he was demonstrating how well he could trot backwards.
"What are you looking at?" he asked suspiciously, automatically restringing his bow.

Trenor pawed the sand and tossed his head. He just wanted to get off the beach, away from the dinosaur and the person who wasn't his person, and back to his nice warm stable.

"If you doubt my word, I'll take my leave of you, so you needn't fear for your safety." His voice was dripping with contempt, and he gave Gawain his head, sending him flying down the beach away from Rex.
