Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

Jolee had found a sign that the previous owner had made at some point. After talking to Tino about it (which annoyingly required a couple mind tricks just to get him to open up... it's like Tino didn't like Jolee for some reason), Jolee came to a decision and put up a new sign.

Three Minute Dates at Caritas
Saturday, February 16th

It lacked the flair of the sign he had found, and flair seemed important for this kind of thing. That meant that he was going to have to decide which employee to force into running it.

[OOC: Just in time for post-Valentine's Day. There will be an info/signup post in a couple weeks, I just wanted to announce it now. :D]

Therefore, Melody was at the bar. "Can I have a diet coke and vanilla vodka?"

"They make vanilla vodka?" Jolee asked, making a face at the thought. Tino nodded and prepared Melody's drink. "Huh. Learn something new every day despite my attempts at ignorance. Here you go, miss."

"It's yummy, it makes the diet coke taste like a regular coke only with booze!" Melody said cheerily. "So if you learn something new every day, do you know everything in the world by now?"

"I'm not old enough for that yet," Jolee said, his face neutral. He hadn't decided if he was going to be amused or offended by it yet. "That'll take me a couple more years."

"So I can't ask you to tell me everything," Melody said, half-pouting. "But in a few years, when you do know, people an just talk to you instead of going to school!"

"That would suggest that I'd share my information," Jolee pointed out. "I get grumpy when people try to get too much out of me."

"It's all good except my cats are freaked out and that makes me kind of freaked out," Melody answered. "What about you, Agent Cooper?"

"This week has been exceptionally fine," Dale replied. "Even with that weird change in the weather we had the other day. What's causing your cats to act so strange?"

"I don't know, Melody said, clearly genuinely concerned by this, "I thought it was maybe that I wasn't playing enough CD chase with them, but I tried that today and they just hid under the bed." She frowned. "Usually I'm great at understanding them, too."

"Have they been eating?" Dale asked. "Perhaps you've given them new cat food and the change in diet is making them irritable."

Dale was in a chipper mood as he took his seat at the bar. "Good evening sir," he called out to the bartender. "If I could have a draft beer please. Just a hint of foam if you don't mind."

"Tino? Could you prepare this man's drink to his specifications?" Jolee asked.

Tino silently raged about the lack of the word 'please,' but he got Dale's beer ready and brought it over. "There you go, son."

"Thank you sir," Dale replied. "Can I assume that you are the new owner of this establishment?"

"You could assume plenty of things and be wrong about all of them," Jolee said.

He enjoyed conversations like this so much. It made being old worth it.

Doom walked into the bar, took a seat, and ordered a drink. While everything was progressing nicely, he needed more information.

He got the information quickly though, as the old man in robes straightened the sign regarding the date thing using telekinesis. It could be a coincidence, of course, but he was willing to make assumptions at the moment. Just in case, he did what he could to make sure that his mind was blank to assist the protection offered by his armor.

It was a good evening for Doom.

WHY CAN I NOT GET THAT RIGHT?

I was specifically thinking 16th all the way through, too, so I have no clue how 17th got typed. At least I didn't get it wrong while looking at a calendar this time...
