The Magic Box, Monday

As Alex opened up the Magic Box, she realized she still needed to apologize to Giles about missing work last week.

Being sick had been loads of fun... NOT.

Settling behind the counter, Alex popped open her laptop and browsed the World Wide Wizard-web. They were having a sale on shoes.

Andrew was out and about town, picking up a few items, and decided to stop into the Magic Box to see who was working.

Alex hadn't expected anyone to come into the store and was surprised when she heard the door.

Looking up, she smiled and waved. "Hey!"

"Hi there!" Andrew responded with a smile. "We're colleagues," he added casually, walking up to the girl. "I work the Wednesday shift. It's usually pretty busy. I'm Andrew."

"Oh, very cool," Alex grinned brightly. "It's nice to meet you Andrew, I'm Alex."

"You have a charming little smile there, Alex," he said. "I bet that helps you in sales. Me, I have to rely on formidable product knowledge."

"Thanks, Andrews," Alex smiled, ducking her head a bit. "Oh, I'm sure you do great with everyone."

"I do okay," he replied. "So what made you decide to work here? Was it Mr. Giles' charm and quick wit?"

"That was part of it," Alex smiled, chuckling lightly. "I like things having to do with magic. I thought this might be a good place to work," she shrugged, admitting a half-truth.

"Yeah, magic and stuff is pretty cool." He decided to test his fellow worker. "So, I have a friend suffering from a pretty big case of the brain achy. Is there anything here that you would recommend to help him out?"

Makoto hadn't ever been in here before, but he showed up with a hot chocolate for Alex in celebration of her being healthy again.

"Morning!" He said cheerfully.

Alex grinned brightly when she saw her roommate. "Morning, Makoto!"

He presented her with the hot chocolate. "For you, because you're well again."

"Oh, that's so sweet, thank you!" Alex smiled warmly, happily accepting the hot chocolate.

Makoto coloured slightly at being called sweet, and glanced around the store. "Does all of this stuff actually work?" He asked.

"It does actually," Alex nodded, smiling. "I was kind of surprised at that, but yeah, everything in here has its purpose."

"That's fascinating," Makoto said, "I don't think where I live has anything like this."

"It's quite a store," Alex nodded. "Feel free to check it out," she smiled.

"Can anyone use the things in here?" He wondered, "Or do the things work only if you've got a talent for magic?"

Makoto was quite sure, after all, that he had no magical skill whatsoever.

"Pretty much, yes," Alex nodded. "There are a few things in here that work with magic inclined folks, but most of the items can be used by anyone."
