Groovy Tunes; Monday [ 01/28 ]

Prince Oscar Pedro had finally gotten out from under the bed; Chad realized that it was probably just that he was hungry because he went directly to his food dish. Either way, it meant the kitten would come with him to work today, and they celebrated with the other kittens with the most epic game of Chase the CD imaginable. It required Chad pretty much just kicking one of those operetta crates on its side, letting the contents spill out, and letting the cats just go crazy.

It was insanely amusing. Not that you'd tell from Chad's expression, though.

Today's mix: Sex Blurred Weekend

Teddy wasn't still weirded out by sushi sex at all.

Nope.

Ignore the shyness as he entered the shop.

"Hey."

"He--"

Chad's greeting was cut off by a sudden streak of four kittens and about three rolling CDs right across Teddy's path toward the counter, and his attempts (easily succeeded) in trying not to grin.

"--ey, you."

Okay, that was cute.

Teddy just had to grin as well. "That common?"

"Not that many CDs," Chad observed with a slight shrug. "I let 'em go crazy with it today 'cause Prince Oscar Pedro seems to be feeling better."

Chad was under the suspicion that he hadn't managed to get all the chocolate out of the kitten's reach after all, and too much of it was accounting for his odd behavior this past week.

"The chocolate still bothering him?" Teddy asked, crouching down to hold out his hand to the kittens.

"Might have," Chad shrugged; in a rare testament to the rousing nature of the multi-CDed game, Prince Oscar Pedro seemed to be ignoring attention from Teddy for the sake of his furry comrades today. "Think it's out of his system again, though."

Standing up and walking over to Chad, Teddy watched the kittens play. "Good. He's... ya know, grown on me."

"I could tell," Chad said, allowing a slight grin to break through. He leaned (carefully) forward on the counter. "Which is good, 'cause I think he likes you too."

Teddy nudged him, hopping up on the counter next to him. "He likes everyone."

"Not...everyone," Chad argued lightly with a grunt, and then desperately trying to think of an example of someone who Prince Oscar Pedro didn't like.

He wasn't thinking of anything. "Well, not all the time, then," he amended, rolling up his sleeve to show Teddy the scars still in his shoulder. They were healing nicely, though, as he had definitely listened to his imouto and disinfected and took care of them. "Look at what he did the other day."

He figured Teddy hadn't seen the scars the other day because Teddy had been rather....distracted toward other parts of Chad.

Teddy hadn't noticed them, actually.

So when he frowned and moved closer to look them over, it actually was kinda shock. "You tried focusing on them?"

Chad frowned back, straightened as he rolled his sleeve back down. "Focusing on them? They're just a few scratches, it's no big deal."

Rolling his eyes, Teddy gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "And I worry too much, I know."

"Way too much," Chad said, nudging Teddy lightly with his elbow. "I'm startin' to feel comfortable with you being like that about ninjas and shit, but I think you're a little over the top when it comes to cute cuddly kittens."

Yes, Prince Oscar Pedro was totally cuddly, shut up.

"Especially cute, cuddly kittens," Teddy added. "Never expect them to hurt you."

"Dork," Chad grunted, but fondly, as indicative in the stretch of his neck so that he could give Teddy a light kiss. He didn't want to talk about that sort of thing, though. Yeah, Teddy was way too overprotective, but Chad knew that if their positions were reversed, he'd be the exact same way. "Do anything interesting today?"

"Other than visit you?"

"I said interesting," Chad retorted. "So, yes, other than visiting me."

"You're interesting," Teddy protested, leaning over for a kiss.

"Nah," Chad responded idly, much more interested in the kiss. "Boring. I do know how to dust for fingerprints now, though."

Teddy chuckled, giving him another light kiss. "Should I worry about waking up covered in powder?"

Considering how it went...? Chad swallowed a little.

"Possibly."

Teddy could perhaps consider it practise for Chad later modeling years.

That just earned him another peck. "Dork," Teddy teased.

"I was doing really well, too," Chad said, although he couldn't feel too sore about it, seeing as he'd gotten a peck. "Guess I jus' don't have much of a future in detective work."

"Model turned detective?" Teddy asked, biting his lip to keep from laughing.

"Oh, shut up," Chad said, reaching up to mess up Teddy's hair, "not everyone can just go be emperor, y'know."

Well that just made him stop trying not to laugh. "I wasn't making fun! I just thought it sounded like something on, like, the Style Channel."

Chad grunted distastefully. "There you go, then. Next step. The whole bumbling detective thing is popular entertainment; I guess I'd just look good doing it."

He paused.

"There's be great music, too."

Of course.

"You'd make sure of that," Teddy told him, nodding terribly seriously.

"Good music is important," Chad said, his dull voice with a small hint of argument. "I'm gonna be pissed if they end up playing crappy music at your court, or whatever."

"You can make them play anything you want." Teddy gave him another kiss. "Because my consort is allowed to do anything."

Chad quirked a well-hidden eyebrow. "Anything, huh?"

Teddy leaned away, trying to peer under Chad's hair. "Why do i get the feeling you're planning something?"

"Why would I...plan something?" Chad asked, straightening from the counter to gain back some of his height to make him taller. Of course, he didn't have a clue of what he could possibly do, and Teddy would figure it out eventually because Teddy was not only smart, but knew Chad well enough, but he figured he could get as much out of it as possible before that point.

Of course he could.

Just took a little distraction and the emperor wasn't going to say no.

"Why wouldn't you?"

"S'better question for you," Chad challenged back. "You're the one giving me permission."

"Maybe I want you to take advantage," Teddy replied, leaning against him.

Despite the suspicious glance downward, Chad responded to the lean with wrapping arms in a little hug. "I'll do something," he mused, "get in trouble, piss people off, and then you'll do something, and got a scapegoat, right? I see how it is."

Teddy snorted, kissing his neck. "Right. I'm just using you for a scapegoat. Also? I like girls. A lot. I am all about boobs now."

Chad, on occasion, could be smart enough to avoid letting comments like the one he was thinking, a resounding can't blame you there, from slipping. "If I was gonna do anything, I'd want to most likely do it with you, anyway. So I guess it's moot."

Teddy sighed, leaning his head against Chad's shoulder.

"True."

Chad was quiet for a long moment, just being glad to have Teddy there, before commenting, "Thanks for coming in again."

Teddy grinned, kissing him again and wrapping his arms around Chad's neck. "Don't have to thank me for that."

"Yeah, I do," Chad said, with a sort of finality leaking into his voice that made it pretty clear that he wasn't even going to bother listening to any arguments Teddy might make. Those arguments would have to wait, anyway, since there was a kiss to give him, too.

"Love you, you dork," Teddy mumbled, kissing back. Oh, those poor kittens. Their wee minds warped by boykissy. "'s not gonna change."

The kittens with fur, perhaps. Prince Oscar Pedro had been exposed to far worse than just boykissy.

"Better not," Chad muttered back, kissing Teddy again. And then a second time before he added, "Dork."

Hey, Teddy started it.

Prospects of kitten interference are high today.
