Tom's new employee, Makoto, had already let him know that he wouldn't be there for his usual Thursday shift, so Tom dutifully came to set up everything himself. His enthusiasm had yet to dampen much, if at all... unfortunately, his bounciness led him to accidentally knock a container full of red peppers riiiight into the tomato sauce.

So it was a sheepish Tom that posted the menu board.

Biff slid into a seat and flipped through the menu as he waited for Ghanima to arrive.

What do you know, here was a Ghanima, stopping for a moment to appraise her surroundings. "My, that does smell good, doesn't it?"

Biff grinned up at her. "It really does," he agreed. "You'll love it."

She returned the smile and took the seat next to him. "So what is pizza, anyway? Besides being a potential godsend for us of the non-culinary persuasion?"

"Round disks of dough with tomato sauce and stuff on them," Biff said enthusiastically. "The Roman army pretty much smelled like this place when they moved."

"The Romans also smelled like day-old gym socks when on the march, but I find this infinitely more appealing," she said. "Hm, maybe I should teach the Romans for my next class, and bring pizza. Does it count as authentic cuisine?"

"They didn't have the tomatoes when they were oppressing the Middle East, but they certainly had the garlic," Biff said. He laughed. "Don't have them circumcise statues of Apollo. My kids already did that."

"There will be no circumcisions in my class," she said dryly. "I've already had to stomp on one 'mine is bigger' contest during my lecture, I refuse to encourage another one."

Biff rolled his eyes. "You got a couple of those? Sorry."

Ghanima shook her head. "Normally they're both at least acceptable students, but this was after the turmoil of the recent 'identity crisis' weekend. Apparently there's a history there, and they started having it out. Since I'm not allowed to shake them like naughty puppies, I had to settle for calling them out in front of the class."

"I miss being able to pop 'em," Biff said. "This week the two designated trouble-makers got into a fight with each other about Moses, so that was fun. They kept me out of it."

"You can designate troublemakers? That would be nice," Ghani commented, picking up a menu to view the options. "How can you fight about Moses? He's rather self-explanatory."

"Apparently one of them thought the Lord had set him up," Biff said with a roll of his eyes. "Because he was totally tricked into holding the Hebrews captive or something. Jeez."

He looked at the menu. "Ooooh. Bacon on pizza?"

"Are you kidding? About the bacon, I mean, not the Hebrews. I don't doubt the ability of our students to come up with conspiracy theories." Ghani set down her menu and instead leaned over to look at his. "Hm. Bacon. What else can we put on it to go with bacon?"

"More bacon?" Biff said, laughing.

"Cheese with bacon and extra bacon," she said agreeably, "Maybe some pineapple?"

"Sounds fantastic," Biff said. "And beer. Because pizza and beer belong together."

"Real beer," Ghani insisted mock-sternly. "None of this light-diet-beer nonsense."

"That stuff should be sacrilegious," Biff decided.

"I hereby ban it from my religion," she said loftily. "There. Done. Your turn."

Biff cracked his knuckles. "I ban it from my religion as well." He grinned. "What else should we ban?"

"I ban pompous people from bothering me on weekends. If they bother me on weekdays, I ban them from complaining when I mock them. It is now heretical to be pompous," she declared while laughing. "All heretics convicted of this crime will be left out in the deep desert with enough water for one day. So I decree!"

Obviously, she's had some practice with this.
