Turtle and Canary: Monday

Jamie has set up the soup aisle as his own miniature bowling alley. He's got Progresso soup set up as the pins and he's using a Campbell's cream of chicken as a bowling ball.

So far he's got a 146 average.

Apu appears to be disgusted with the blatant soup abuse.

World ending? Not today.

G'Kar nearly tripped over a can of wayward soup as he stepped into the store. Mondays were the days that Jamie Madrox was supposed to be working, according to Turtle.

Seemed like there wasn't much work going on, however. He cleared his throat loudly, designed to catch the attention of whoever was obviously goofing off.

"One second," Jamie said going into his windup. "I've got a 7-10 split."

The can flew down the lane and the seven can was pinged by the cream of chicken soup and sent spinning into the ten can.

Jamie threw his arms in the air and let out a victorious "woot".

"Okay! How awesome was that?"

G'Kar just gave him a blank look. Like he knew what a 7-10 split even was.

"Very awesome," he remarked in a tone that indicated that it was anything but. "What exactly are you doing?"

"Bowling? Okay generally you don't use cans but you got to use what's available. Can I help you find something?"

"I am not familiar with this 'bowling'. But is it wise to use store merchandise for your own entertainment?"

"Well I'm not expecting a run on Cream of Chicken soup," Jamie said cracking a grin. "You must be the new guy. The one with spots. I'm Jamie. Want to bowl a few frames?"

G'Kar scowled a little. Spots indeed. That joke was going to grow old fast. "Yes, I am the 'new guy'. I suppose you know who I am then?" Like in your new boss. Perhaps he missed Turtle's message about that.

"Jamie. Yes, I've heard about you. And no, I don't wish to 'bowl a few'." Whatever that meant.

"You would be G-something," Jamie said with a shrug. "And you look a little tense. I really think you should re-think your bowling stance. It's a great stressbuster."

"G'Kar," he corrected. "If I appear tense, it would most likely be due to my current surroundings." Perhaps Jamie missed Turtle's message about him. And his new relationship with the store.

"You do know who I am, yes?"

"Sure! You're the boss man. The head cheese. Mr. Numero Uno," Jamie said cheerfully. "Can't believe you've been here a week and the store is stressing you out already. I think there's some baby oil in the next aisle. Would you like a shoulder rub?"

"I doubt the store itself is cause for any undo stress." Its current employee would be more like it. "I don't think I need a shoulder rub, thank you for the offer though."

He looked down at the soup cans still littering the floor. "Perhaps you should clean that up at some point?"

"Well I'm only in the third frame of the second second series," Jamie replied. "So it'll be cleaned up in another 17 frames. So if it isn't the store itself what is it that's causing you stress? The lighting? The eyes on the squishy bot? Don't worry about him looking at you, he's pretty harmless."

G'Kar resisted a growl. This Jamie was really starting to remind him of Garibaldi. And exactly how irritating the man could be when he wanted.

"Fine, as long as it gets cleaned up. Please try not to destory any of them in the process. I think my stress will be short-lived at best." Like as soon as he left the store. "I just wanted to stop in and meet you. Find out how you liked things here."

"Oh I love it," Jamie replied cheerfully. "You can't go wrong with a job where you can drink Grape Judas. Have you tried it yet?"

"Yes. It was...different." Which was his way of saying that he really didn't like it. The grape one that was.

He thought for a moment. "Tell me, Jamie. Do you have any suggestions for the store? Just curious."

"Suggestions?" Jamie said thoughtfully. "Hmm. How about we start a savings account for all the pennies people leave in the change dish and then invest it in some mutual funds?"

That wasn't actually a bad idea. He'd have to mention it to Turtle. Probably not what Jamie had in mind for the money though.

"Interesting. I shall have to consider it." He glanced at the squishybot. Cream of chicken squishy. Sure, why not.

"You're going to drink the Cream of Chicken?" Jamie said make a face of "Ew."

Sure enough, G'Kar got himself one Cream of Chicken Squishy. And promptly took a sip of it. "This brings to mind a particular human phrase," he smirked. "Tastes like chicken."

Michael strolled into the store, grinning evilly and trailed by Liir.

"Hi! I need to teach my friend here about porn. Got any?"

"But creamier," Jamie said still making a face of "Ew."

Which of course made him then say: "Ew."

Liir looked warily at them both.
