Caritas - Monday evening [Open]

Tino didn't like this. Jolee was running a droid as a waiter again. He was pretty sure that the old man was going to try to replace him with a robot. That meant that he had to consolidate his power base in the club and make sure that he was indispensable. That's why he had put a combination lock on the freezer where the brains for the zombies were kept.

Jolee laughed at this as the droid wheeled over and unlocked it in about three seconds.

Tino poured himself a drink. It was going to be a long night.

[OOC: Around, huzzah!]

It was almost Valentines Day, so Robin decided to sing a love song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gp7fK_JPPsY).

It wasn't like A.J. had a whole lot to do today, so he was probably a little early in meeting with Annette. That seemed okay, though. It gave him some time to think about what he was feeling like getting tonight, although he pretty much really only drank beer, but whatever, y'know?

Re: The Bar [2/4]

Annette came in bundled up in a thick sweater and scarf. Spotting A.J., she made a beeline towards him and plopped down next to him. "Hi," she said.

"Hey," A.J. said back, with a small encouraging smile. "Glad you could make it."

Not that he doubted that she wouldn't, of course.

Re: The Bar [2/4]

Right. Because there was drinking to be had.

She ordered a bottle of tequila from Tino. He was used to her and her drinking. At least on Tuesdays when she used to visit Dick here omigod.

Annette unwrapped her scarf and shoved it in her back pocket.

"I might even sing tonight."

A bottle? A.J. eyebrows arched and he gave Tino a warning look. True, A.J. couldn't be that threatening, but he hoped he at least communicated to the guy that, dude, not cool. "I really hope," A.J. said, "you don't plan on drinking all of that. I can't even get how you can drink any of that. Give me just a nice pint of beer any day."

Which Tino was now getting for him.

"What do you think you'll sing?"

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, well I kinda want to feel good really quick," she said, giving the best answer that she could, though she added. "After the first few shots? Who cares what the crap it tastes like?"

Tino brought a bottle but he also just poured her a shot, which she took and held up, looking at A.J. with a brow arched. "Cheers." Then she downed it, making a face and squeezing her eyes shut.

"Another Tino and oh-I-don't-know A.J. Whatever I sing, you're gonna sing it with me."

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] by137.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Slow down there, Annette," A.J. said. Yeah, it was only two shots, but she was talking like she was talking that one night on the roof, and it made him uncomfortable. "We've still got all night, and I'm a little weakling. It would take me forever to carry you back to the dorms when you pass out." And then he allowed a light, teasing grin, nudging her. "And I don't recall agreeing to this whole singing business, missy."

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
She would slow down. Not like she wanted to get drunk or anything. Just feel really good.

Drunk would work though.

"I'm fine. I don't want you to have to carry me back. I haven't, uh, been eating much lately so I won't drink much." Her fingers were wrapped around her second shot glass though.

Annette grinned wide. "You are so singing with me. This is a make Annette feel better night, right?"

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] by137.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Damn. She had him there. "Just....don't make me sing anything that really sucks, Annette. Ohmigawd."

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Annette giggled and downed her second shot. "What, no Say no more, mon amour? But I loved that!"

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] by137.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"I. Will. Kill. You," A.J. said, although he laughed. "It would be a shame for you to die so soon into your new freedom, Annette."

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
She made a pouty face at him and nudged him with her shoulder. "It would make me soooo happy. So so happy. Don't you want me happy? I'll even play at being one of your adoring fans."

Annette glanced at Tino, raised her brows, and watched as he refilled her glass.

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] by137.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
And A.J. attempted to counteract Annette's raised brows at Tino with another warning look. "You can pick a much, much better song than that abomination, Annette."

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Annette looked over at A.J., noticing that look but she didn't say anything. Instead she grabbed a pretzel and nibbled on the salt. "Um, okay..." she thought back to that night at Pizza Planet. They were crazy, singing and carrying on to the jukebox. And dancing. Whoa the dancing.

"Um... I don't know. Tino," she lifted her chin. "Come on... one more."

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] by137.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
That was the thing with A.J. and Rex. It only happened when he was either persuaded to death or in the burst of a moment that he'd rather probably forget later. Never pre-emptively, though. Ever.

A.J. wrinkled his nose. "You're putting away your third one of those and I've barely gotten a sip out of mine," he commented. True, a good part of this was because he was intentionally trying to keep himself clear-headed even if he felt Annette should get a little loosened.

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
"...and I'm just a girl and smaller than you," she winked. "I bet I could drink you under the table." She couldn't, but she's always wanted to say that.

The shot went down and she barely winced this time. "Another, Tino." To A.J. she said. "I don't want to sing or hear a lousy love 'em and leave 'em song. Let's do something... fun and perky!" She giggled and spun on her stool. "Like... uhhh... Shiny Happy People!"

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] by137.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
She was....really moving quickly here, wasn't she? A.J. sucked in a tentative breath. "There's really actually a song called Shiny Happy People?"

Re: The Bar [2/4]

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded and bounced. "Yeah, there is! But we don't have to sing it, it's kind of really... too happy for me. Maybe I should sing something angsty, hmm."

It'd been too long since Robin had been out to Caritas, so he decided to remedy that.

Jack decided to drown his sorrows.
He was pretty sure they could swim, and that did not make him happy.
