Magic Box, Wednesday [2/13/08]
It was wet and just a few degrees shy of being icy, but inside the Magic Box, everything was warm and cheery. Andrew had lit one of the scented candles that promised to enhance the atmosphere in a way that would facilitate romance. It really smelled lovely.
He was making a little display of items and trinkets one might think of giving their Valentine. He thought twice about a book of love spells, but figured if someone wanted to take the time to brew and administer one of the potions in hopes of snagging some affection, it wasn't his place to stop them.
The Magic Box was open!

The Magic Box was open!

"And look! Eighty-seven to ninety percect less of a blue face today," he added, pointing to himself.

"I do, however, come bearing chocolate and sugar of other kinds."
no subject
"It smells like a little slice of heavenly goodness," he said.

"I also brought you lunch, if you like beef stew at all."
Two bowls, two spoons, two hunks of bread, and a teapot full of stew.
"I forgot something to drink, though, unfortunately."
no subject
"But first..." He stepped closer and gave Liir a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Better," he said with a smile.
no subject
"You're very sweet to me," he remarked as he started pouring out the stew and set up the spoons and the bowls.

Andrew poured some bottled water into the electric kettle and plugged it in, though his focus was on Liir pretty much the entire time. He just enjoyed watching the other boy move, breathe, think, sleep...

"I mostly took over the kitchen for the morning," he admitted. "I had some things to get done."
no subject
"What kind of tea would you like," he asked. "There's kind of a regular black tea, a green tea in a green packet, a green tea in a pink packet, some Earl Grey, mint, and a mystery something or other."

"Now we just have to wait for the kettle to boil, and we're in business," he said, smiling over at Liir.
"I'm thinking of trying to get a suit today."
no subject
He smiled at Andrew.
"I wanted to match what you picked. Compliment your choice."
no subject
"I'll try and match what you picked," he said.
"It sounds very nice."

Though he'd probably pick up a vest in green and gold. Or perhaps green and silver. Sometime soon.
no subject
"Do you like the smell of the candle that's burning," he asked. "I was thinking of maybe picking up a few."
Not that he thought they needed any help in the romance area.

"There is sugar and honey back here too. Not that you need to be any sweeter."
It was a cheesy line, he knew it.

He shook his head, amused at how easily Andrew was impressed by him. He really was far too biased.
"And the tea will be fine like this."
He generally enjoyed things as they were served to him.
no subject
"That's really good," he said. "Really good."
He took another bite.
"So have you, um... well, do you have plans for tomorrow night?" He wasn't sure which one of them should be making them. He kind of thought maybe him because he was more familiar with the holiday.
no subject
"I haven't been able to figure out something," he admitted, looking rather embarrassed. "And I didn't think you'd want to lay around in your room again."
no subject
no subject
"Well, it's up to you, of course."
no subject
He really wanted a chance to pamper Liir.
no subject
"If you want," he said.
And perhaps Andrew had some idea how hard it was for him to say that.
no subject
no subject
"Whatever you say."
no subject
"Any requests?"

Of course, Liir was really all that mattered, but he really did want him to enjoy the evening, and not just because Andrew was there.
no subject
"I'm sure it'll be fine."
Liir would eat just about whatever was put in front of him. After all, there had been more than a few 'dry' months where a hank of meat and some hard cheese had made up their meals. Then there'd been the Emerald City...
"This is all right?"
no subject
"Thank you for bringing me lunch."
