Howdy.

Reno was there. Drinking. As you do.

Mmm. Drinking.

Surprisingly, he was in a pleasant mood.

And, look, there was a lightweight heading for Reno at the bar.

"Hey! How's the local swill?"

Reno laughed. He was going to get Sokka drunk off his stool if it was at all within his power.

"Swill's swell," he reported. "You got a preference?"

This time, Sokka came prepared, with a short list of things scribbled on a scrap of paper. "I'd like sex on the beach," he announced loudly.

Reno was not going to laugh. He was not.

"Right then. One sex on the beach for you, and I'll go with whiskey tonight, yo." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette. Tonight was a good night for a smoke. "I seriously owe you one, man. You know that?"

"I know you owe me more than I'd probably feel comfortable knowing," Sokka pointed out. "Honestly, I'm a bit weirded out. But you're cool, and she likes you, so it's all good."

"She's really... somethin'," Reno replied with a grin, knocking back a shot of whiskey like it was water. "Didn't learn the language with gettin' laid in mind. Gotta stress that."

"She's very... hyper," Sokka countered, knocking back a gulp of his drink like it was turpentine. "You'd better not have. I'd feel really awful if you had."

"Yeah, she's hyper, too. She's got this... ninja... raspberry thing. Didn't see it coming." Mmm, more whiskey. Making a point not to laugh at the lightweight. Yet. Maybe after a few more shots. "Didn't see much comin', really. I gotta work on that."

"Ninja raspberry?" Sokka asked. "I, uh. She's pretty random. I don't know that you'll be able to see much coming. Just a fair warning."

"You know, when someone puts their lips on your skin and blows? Makes a funny sound, tickles like hell? She does that." He slid a whiskey shot down the bar at Sokka. "Here, try this. You'll like it, yo. You figure she'll keep me on my toes? I don't got doubts, really. Kinda lookin' forward to it. Which is weird."
He downed another shot of his own.

"Never really do that kinda thing. S'new."

Sokka tried it. He didn't really like it. ...And then he did. And then he wasn't sure. It was good, though.

"'s good." He shrugged. "Yeah, she'll keep you on your toes. She's a strange one. Not, like, Fandom strange. Just normal strange. Inna head." He peered at Reno. "You never do what kind of thing? Strange?"

"Relationships," Reno clarified, and he slid another drink down the bar at Sokka. "No good at 'em. Dunno what I'm doin'." He laughed. The whiskey-fog settling over his mind was a pleasant one. "But strange is good, yo. Right? I dunno. She's pretty cool. Don't wanna mess... whatever it is up."

"But you're a stud-man! How can you not know what you're not... Uh. Doing?" Sokka gave him an incredulous look. "I mean, you've been in lots of 'em, right?"

Tch. Hear that 'tch' sound? That was Reno.

"Yeah, one night at a time. I dunno. I think maybe she deserves better than a night, yo."

"Ohhhhh, you're one of THOSE people." Sokka took another drink. "You do that to her, she'll kick your butt. She can, too. I can't. But she can."

"I'd let her." Mm, whiskey. "Not gonna do that to her, yo. Just means she gets Reno the wonder twit as a boyf-- guy. Guy. That. She spends time with."

Sokka leaned in close and raised an eyebrow. "'snot a bad word. ...I'm a guy she spends time with. You're more'n that. And... --this is good. What is it, again?" He stared down into his empty glass.

"Whiskey," Reno decided to hell with it and just bought the bottle. There. Have another shot, Sokka. "S'not a bad word. S'a good word. I think I suck at it. I dunno." Have another shot, Reno. "Maybe? She's pretty awesome, yo."

Sokka had another shot.

"Then don't suck at it. Just... Don't suck at it. I dunno. Just don't. Yeah. Girls are awesome."

Sokka, Reno decided, was a very smart kid.

"They are. Rikku's good at bein' an awesome girl. I'm gonna have to... not suck. Or something."

Damn, he was getting drunk. Mmm, whiskey.

Sokka nodded.

A lot.

"You're good at bein' awesome, too," he eventually spouted. "An' girls are awesome. 'specially hot girls."

Reno was flattered. His ego decided that he liked Sokka. Sokka was good people. So he sent another drink his way.

"You ain't too bad at bein' awesome, either. And Rikku's a hot girl, yo. Good at bein' awesome. Comes with the territory, an' stuff." Heh. "She's got the most crazy eyes. Love 'em."

Sokka grinned. "Yup, I'm awesome!!! That's me, Mr. Awesome!!! I've got awesome dripping out of my awesome. With awesome. You, too. And Rikku. Rikku and Mel. Hot and awesome."

He swallowed the next drink and started wobbling.

"Mel and Rikku are both hot and awesome," Reno agreed. Whiskey made him very agreeable except when it didn't. "You can have Mel, and I'll take Rikku, and we'll all be... awesome."

Awesome Reno had himself another shot. He was better at not wobbling. If only because he was leaning forward against the bar.

"Can watch dismemberments on bad movies in th' common rooms and be awesome an' shit. Maybe bring the whiskey. You likin' the whiskey? It's damn good stuff, I think. Want more?"

He crushed out what was left of his cigarette, and pondered lighting another. Nah. Aim was shot all to shit, didn't need to burn his fingers.

Sokka nodded. "No I don' wan' Mel. Jus' friends. ... ...Maybe I do. Whiskey's good, yeah. Dismembermember whiskey 'n 'splosions. Lotsa 'splosions. More's good."

He wobbled his way off the barstool and tried to clamber back on.

"Maybe more's not good. Should'a brought my phone. Dreadpoo's got it. Can't take incrominatin' videos if he's got it." Reno, of course, was going to have himself another shot. Mm. Whiskey shot. He officially liked it more than Cuervo. "Explosions are good."

Heh. Explosions.

"Pajamaman's awesome too..." Sokka sighed. "He's got lots of... things. BOOM!"

And, with that, he passed out and clunked his head on the bar.

Reno glanced sidelong at Sokka.

"Boom."

Heh. Lightweights. He'd have a few more drinks, maybe. And then he'd see about dragging Sokka's sorry ass back to the dorms.
