So Faith was in a marginally better mood this week. Kinda worried about the girl. Kinda worried about the stuff she talked to Dale about. Still. Girl wasn't dead and Dale wasn't crazy. Not a bad place to start.

Caritas was open.

Sokka sat down at the bar, trying to get his head around... all sorts of things.

"Hey, foxy lady," he greeted the hot bartender. "Hook me up with... Uh. I dunno. A scotch, maybe?"

Faith snickered. "You ever had a Scotch, kid, or you just pullin' names out of the air?"

"Yeah. Uh-huh. Very funny. I HAVE, I'll have you know." Once. A week and a half ago. "So, unless you can explain to me why girls are so confusing, I'll just take the drink."

"Girl trouble?" she snickered. "We're weird, we're bitchy, we're hot, and some of us are excellent in bed. You guys put up with it because you're whipped. And sometimes we just seem confusing because having a penis makes so many people stupid."

She poured him a glass of Scotch. See, not entirely evil. "What'd she do?"

"That... Okay, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Speak to me, o amazingly hot font of bountiful wisdom!"

He took a drink. "It's not exactly trouble. More like, the opposite of trouble. I think. 'Cause she rolls her eyes at me, and then kisses me anyway." He shrugged. "...And also my sister's apparently in love with our mortal enemy, but I haven't seen either of 'em around all day to yell at."

"How is that a problem?" Faith grinned. "Most girls roll their eyes at you, right? This one also sticks her tongue down your throat. It's called progress. And the whole mortal enemy thing has the whole forbidden thing going for it. It's hotter the more you yell. Might get boring if you swear up and down there's nothing about it that pisses you off."

"Hey Faith," Mel said grabbing a seat. "What's the good word?"

She nodded down the bar. "Met a friend of yours."

She turned her head and smiled when she saw Sokka. "So he was talking about me?"

"Little bit," Faith shrugged, with more tact than she usually possessed. "Said he was gettin' mixed signals from a Slayer. Thought he was getting the Royal Buffy Treatment, and warned his ass. Turns out it's you."
