Magic Box, Friday

Giles spent a good portion of time trying to sweep the dust bunnies out the front door of the shop when he first arrived. The level of his success was negligible, as the amount of dirt and dust accumalating in the shop attested to.

He finally took a break and leaned against the counter with a cup of tea, eyeing the strange bunnies with a baleful eye.

Maybe Anya was on to something with her opinion of bunnies.

The Magic Box was open.

"Sure it is!" There was some bouncing, and a little spin. "Guess who got into Oxford!"

"Thank you! I don't know if I'm gonna go, because I haven't heard from anywhere else yet, but I'm gonna go to college and be a real Watcher!" She squealed, "It's so cool!"

Oh. Right. "Think of me as a new generation, then. I have found my inner Watcher, and wow, she's a dork. But I'm good with that, and it's cool if I say it's cool." Besides, to her mind, it was kind of following in Giles's footsteps and carrying on his family line, because even if she wasn't his family line by blood, she totally was by choice, and that was good enough for her. "New rule."

"Would groovy make you feel more comfortable?" She teased. "I could probably manage groovy."

Then she hugged him. "Anyway, you're totally cool, Giles. Almost as hardcore as Oz."

"Okay, see, now I'm gonna have to teach you about cool," she got her 'explaining' face on and wondered how long it would be before he went for the bottle of scotch he had hidden somewhere. "It's a state of mind. Think very zen, and then don't care about anything people say. Like, okay. Xander? Cool. Willow? Cool. Harmony? Not so much. Cordelia? Nope, though she got better for a while. Oz? Frigid. Angel? Um, no."
