Turtle & Canary; Saturday [ 03/08 ]

With everything that had been happening, disappearances into Canada and then boring vacations into Mexico, and school, and everything, Turtle honestly couldn't remember if it was her turn to open the store this Saturday or G'kar's, but, when you got right down to it, she really missed the place, got up early, and decided to come in and open it anyway. It was quite sweet, she realized, after about half an hour of listening to Apu and then finally understanding what he was saying, how he thought maybe she had died and was very glad for the fact that she wasn't. She had to agree with him; she was rather glad she wasn't dead, too.

Today's Squishy flavors: Grape Judas, Red, Filet Mignon.

Sky came into Turtle & Canary after talking to Mr. Manager to do the thing he'd most wanted to after returning to his normal body- behind doing... things with Troy, of course- purchase and consume sweet, sweet Grape Judas.

"Hi, Turtle," he greeted her.

"Hey, Sky!" Turtle, fiddling with a few things on the cash register out of the sheer joy to simply be there with it (oh, how she missed it) greeted him back brightly. "What's up?"

"I'm enjoying having my body back," he replied, rummaging in his pocket for the exact amount of what he knew he'd purchase. "I spent most of this week as a sparkling red ball of light. I just changed back last night." He, of course, left out the whole running through town nude bit.

"Oh, yeahhhhhh," Turtle mused, leaving whatever it was she was meddling with alone so she could ring Sky up. "I remember reporting on that. Help solve something between me and Jeff, then, now that you're back. As a ball of light, you didn't have hair, right?"

She also added, smoothly, as if entirely a part of the conversation and not at all a segue into getting him to buy something else, "Just the Squishy for you today? Really?"

Sky laughed at that. "No, I didn't have hair. I was just a ball of light energy- pretty much all I could do was float, talk, hear, and look at things. Hmm... DO I want anything else?" He tapped his fingers on the counter, then his eyes caught the Easter candy display. A few Cadbury Eggs couldn't hurt, right? He stepped over to it, seized a few, and set them on the counter. "Usually I only get the urge to buy candy when Sokka's here," he said. "But I didn't need to eat all week, so I figure I've earned some junk food."

"I knew it!" Turtle chuckled a little triumphantly at the claim to the lack of hair, and then her head tilted at Sky's choice. "Not needing to eat all week is definitely merits for junk food. In fact, I'd say you're skimping a little lightly there, Sky. That's barely a splurge."

She also tucked away the note that Sokka seemed to be performing well in regards to pushing candy, so she'll have to mention her appreciation for that next time she saw him.

Sky frowned back at the candy display, and somehow, a box of marshmallow eggs and a package of yellow Peeps found their way onto the countertop.

"OK, that will be all, I think," he said firmly. He knew this wasn't all that much and refusing on the grounds that it was all junk would sound rather silly, so he would indulge a little. Maybe share some with Troy. "This plus the Squishy is enough sugar for me for one day."

"That is true," Turtle agreed congenially with a nod, as she went to add the new items to Sky's total, "although, incidentally, we have a sale on toothpaste today."

"I don't need any of that, but thanks," he said, smirking and taking out his wallet. "I always make sure to keep well-stocked with such things."

Drat. Well, a sale was still a sale, and there was at least a nice chunk of change more being sold than what Sky had wanted when he came in, so Turtle was satisfied. "Good, good," she nodded and gave him his final total.

Sky handed the correct amount over, eager to consume sweet, sweet Grape Judas. That was one thing he wouldn't share with Troy, as much as he loved his boyfriend.

"It's funny how much I missed being able to do these kinds of things, come to think of it," he commented.
