It wasn't as if Jen was the type of person to skip work in the first place, and all things considered, even if she was she'd much rather have been at work than on her way to go fight Doombots in Latveria.

Okay, maybe that was a bit of a stretch since she'd actually rather enjoyed that.

Being at work definitely beat being locked in a dungeon in Latveria, though, that was for sure.

She was making long-distance calls to Jungle Karma Pizza again today, only not so much with the hanging up; this time she was calling under the pretense of asking them what kind of specials they had. Most of the time Fran picked up the phone, sounding kind of harried -- maybe something was attacking Ocean Bluff again -- but once Theo took the call. Oh my god.

Tom looked a little out of it today. He was working quietly, almost mechanically, and couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. What, he had no real idea.
