The Perk, Saturday afternoon
To be fair, Brooke didn't need the caffeine. But she needed to work somewhere besides her room if she didn't want to keep getting distracted, and she had a lot of designs to still finish before the fashion show. So she'd brought her book with her to work, occasionally sipping on her coffee, and just as occasionally visibly spazzing for a moment before sketching something new out. The two things were- amazingly- unrelated.

Peter went over to the counter, pondered his options, then got a coffee for himself and a thick piece of chocolate cake with two forks. He brought it all back to Brooke's table and took a seat. "How's that?"

handwavilyhelped fix up for her because she just couldn't stand to be in the room any more. Besides, fresh air was supposed to be good for kids, right? When she saw Brooke in the Perk she remembered that Lucas had said he'd known a Brooke and that made her think that just maybe she could casually try to find out his last name from her.
"Brooke?" Lana said. "Hey, how's it going?"

Now, how to manage this somewhat subtlely... "So... at cheerleading this week, I saw you waving to this guy I met. Lucas? And he said he'd known you - or another you before."

"He seemed like a nice guy," Lana said, wondering if she was beet red yet. "I was thinking I might drop off a book we were talking about, but I realized I, um... don't know his last name."

She looked at Brooke's face and sighed. "Did he tell you?"
