Turtle & Canary; Sunday [3/23]

Doom was here for his first shift since returning from the past. When he first arrived, there were many Peeps in the store. Now there were none.

On a related note, Doom had bought a new microwave for himself. After a brief trial run, he put it on the counter, displaying the multi-colored sugary carnage that laid inside as a warning to any Peep foolish enough to enter the store on this day.

Today's Squishy flavors: Bunny, Chick, Grape Judas

It amused Doom that the third flavor was available today.

Apu had never seen anyone push buttons on a microwave with such malice. It's not usually something that's done with any malice at all.

Slayer of Peeps.

It's the best way to fight them.

Willow came in and went up to the counter for some help. "Hello?"

"What do you want?" Doom asked, watching to see if Willow let any Peeps in the door with her.

"I'm in need of a frame, please," Willow said. She had, in fact, let Peeps in with her. There was currently a blue bunny standing on the top of her head.

"A picture frame?" Doom asked. "That aisle." He pointed in the direction of the picture frame aisle. "Are you aware that you have a marshmallow on your head?"

"Will those be adequate for proclamations?" Willow asked. "And good. I'm glad it's still up there. It's very upsetting when they fall. There's squeaking sounds and white goo everywhere."

Doom considered demanding that she place the Peep in his microwave of horrors, or even just shooting the Peep with lasers. But he was intrigued. "What sort of proclamation?"

He liked proclamations. It came with being a dictator.

"An official proclamation," Willow said. She felt the Peep move and put a hand up to help it stay in place. "One with a seal and everything. I'm hoping to keep the seal intact."

"Our selection of picture frames should prove adequate for your needs," Doom said. "We do have both ornate and starkly imposing frames, depending on the mood you wish the proclamation to evoke."

"Good point," Willow said. She thought about it. "Do you have frames which evoke a mood of authoritative yet snuggly towards the right person?"

Doom grimaced, although Willow couldn't see it under his mask. "We do not carry 'SNUGGLY' frames."

"Have you considered starting?" Willow asked. "Because clearly there's a market need."

"No," Doom said. "You shall never buy a 'SNUGGLY' frame from Doom."

Willow heaved a put-upon sigh. The Peep on her head seemed to be glaring at Doom. "Fine. What do you have that's in the neighborhood of snuggly?"

Doom began wishing death upon the Peep anew. "We have longing, moderately affectionate, and one frame that indicates that you are willing to tolerate another person's presence for an extended period of time."

Doom may have been projecting upon the frames as these were the most affectionate moods he could manage.

"One moderately affectionate frame, please," Willow said. The Peep, perhaps sensing Doom's intentions, scurried to hide in Willow's hair. Thus she had a Peep-shaped bump of hair on the top of her head.

"Apu. Retrieve the authoritative yet moderately affectionate frame," Doom ordered. Doom turned back to Willow. "He will just be a moment or he shall suffer the consequences."

[OOC: Third time's the charm.]

"Would consequences have anything to do with the microwave?" Willow asked, having noticed the mess. The Peep-shaped bump on her head trembled.

"Apu would not fit in the microwave," Doom said.

It didn't directly answer the question, which is why Apu was pleased to be back at the counter quickly with a frame that anyone but Doom might have recognized as 'snuggly.'

"He would if you chopped him to pieces," Willow pointed out. She gasped with delight upon seeing the frame. "Oh, that's perfect!"

"Doom will not resort to such brutality," Doom said. "I would create a device with which to shrink him, then place him in the microwave."

Doom then told her what the price of the frame was.

"Oo! That would work too," Willow said. "Or you could find a way to combine that with the microwave, thus saving space and creating a whole new form of technology to boot."

She gave him money for the frame. "Thanks so much for your help!"

Doom gave Willow whatever applicable change if any she might be owed and gave his very friendly farewell. "Now leave."

"Shall do," Willow said as she took her frame and went to leave. "Watch out for that bird peep over on that shelf. They're evil."

After Willow left, Doom hunted down the Peep and threw it in the microwave where it died a horrible death.
