Pizza Planet, Friday (March 28)

Jen's Friday was uneventful enough that after a morning run and workout, she headed into work early and her player wishes today had been that uneventful, wah and did not at all ponder looking up unlimited-lives cheat codes for Donkey Madness just to see what happened when Tom started playing next time.

Really.

Miraculously, she was not making long-distance calls to California today -- just using her portable computer to look up the latest news from Silver Hills, Washington.

Jen grinned back at him, and no, it wasn't entirely amusement at the banana suit. "I thought about adding black peppercorns but then it might not be edible."

Sky nodded.

"It sounds spicy enough already. May I have a slice, please?" He did the usual funny dance to get his wallet out of his pocket. "Stupid banana suit..."

"For you?" Jen got out a small pizza box and chuckled a little at the dance. "Two for one, how's that?"

"Thanks," said Sky, smiling more broadly and getting his money out. "I appreciate it. It'll help pass the time at the banana stand a little more... Maybe my boyfriend will come by later. I know he finds the suit to be absolutely hilarious and my mun sniggers at the idea of me talking to him while wearing a giant phallus."

Boyfriend? That hadn't been in the history books, and now Jen was really starting to wonder about the SPD team. Not that she was thrown or anything, being from the 31st century and all, but . . . well, reading the history was different from actually knowing the people as far as the details you got to know.

Yes, she was indulging her secret gossip-hound side. Hush. She was also just a little bit envious, but, well . . . Wes wasn't here.

"The job working out for you okay, then?" asked Jen. "The suit, um, seems like it would be good agility training. Maybe."

Sky's cheeks were a little rosy thinking about Troy... especially what they usually did behind closed doors.

"Yeah, between fending off seagulls and having to get things out of my pocket, sometimes it's nice exercise," he smirked. "I'd rather not have to wear the thing at all, of course, but my boss asked me to, so I did it..."

"You're a good employee, Sky," Jen said. She wondered, for a moment, what Mr. Collins would have thought of him. "I know I wouldn't have done it."

"There are times when it makes me regret my obedient nature, believe me," Sky admitted. "Especially when my friends see me in it. But thank you."

"Long as your obedient tendencies don't give in to your common sense every time, there's nothing wrong with that," Jen told him. "Besides, a guy in a banana suit is so far from the weirdest thing some of us have seen."

"That's true," said Sky, shuddering when he thought about the angel statues. "This suit is pretty tame compared to what we're used to."

Jen smirked as she handed him his pizza. "Of course, the day that thing grows thirty stories tall, you realize we're going to have to have words, right?"

"I don't even want to imagine that," Sky groaned, handing over his money. "Especially because I don't have my powers yet, or a Zord."

"And I don't have access to the Time Flyers any more," Jen added with a slight frown. "So that banana suit had better not fall into the wrong hands."

"Or worse, some other creature decides to attack the island," Sky supplied. He hated to be pessimistic, but hey, there was still a chance!

"It's not big enough to have a warehouse district, or a harbor district, or a downtown with wide streets, or even a conveniently secluded mountain range," Jen mused. "Maybe it's -- I don't want to say it and jinx anything."

"Or a quarry," Sky said. "Don't forget about the quarries. I think the Ninja Storm team had a lot of those, judging from the battle footage we watched of them."

"The only time I ever got one of those was in a weird mirror dimension," Jen said, just a wee bit grumbly about it. "I'm just glad Silver Hills never decided to charge us for damages."

"It's a miracle people even live in big cities any more, at least along the West Coast," said Sky, sounding more than a little amused. "Once Rangers start moving outside Angel Grove, nowhere is safe."

Jen laughed. "As far as I can remember, I don't think there have been any further east than possibly Colorado. Or, well. The Lost Galaxy."

"Lost Galaxy..." Sky frowned, trying to remember. "That was Terra Venture, correct? The city-in-a-dome out in space. I actually envy them a little... must've been a fascinating journey."
