Roof of (Y)MCA - late afternoon

"We're gonna go to Dagobah," Luke told the group of tiny people who had followed him up to the shuttle.

He stared way, way up at the datapad that locked the door. "As soon as I can get that open," he said, frowning.

"Will we be home for dinner?" Evey wondered from the back of the group.

Jaina fished in her pocket. "I have a multitool!" she said. One more year till she got the good one.

And no, it didn't help with the height issue. She just wanted to show it off.

John primed his Super Soaker. "I can always shoot the door open!"

"Yes," Luke declared. "Yoda makes icky stew and never has any cookies."

Luke clapped his hands together. "Try it!"

"You gonna pick the lock?" John asked, peering at her tool.

"Think we could unscrew the door?" Luke asked.

Juli had been coming up to get a breath of fresh air and to clear her head. She paused when she heard the childish voice and her eyebrows rose.

"And what do you think you're doing?" Juli asked, stepping fully onto the roof.

"Awesome!" John grinned, shooting a stream of water up at the datapad. When he was finished, he looked back to Luke, "Now try it!"

Evey looked shocked. "None ever?"

"Goin' to outer space," Luke told her with a smile. "It's my daddy's ship."

"Bet I can," she said. And she actually could do some damage with the thing. "Dad's real good at lockpicking."

"And where's your Daddy right now?" Juli asked, kneeling down to be on level with him. "Does he know you're taking his ship?"

"Probably," Jaina said, looking up at it. "But it's a really big door." She wondered if she could do it anyway.

"Nothing!" Jaina said automatically, hiding her multitool behind her back.

"Oh?" Juli said, looking amused. "Nothing at all?"

"This'll be better than dinner," Jaina promised, and maybe the ship had a machine for dinner anyway.

"Nope. Bein' good kids," she said. That never worked on her parents or Chewie or Winter but maybe it would this time.

"No!" Luke said, eyes wide. "I don't think he even likes them."

"And it'd make a really big boom when it fell down."

From the grin on Luke's face, this was not a disincentive.

Billy was ready. He had a bag of Cap'n Crunch and Jelly sandwiches, juice box, his pockets stuffed with his nerf throwing stars, and his inflatable katana tucked down the back of his shirt.

He bet the terrists were hiding, so after looking around town for a bit, he decided to investigate the roof of the Ymca building.

"Hi!" Oh, Luke wasn't a terrist. He was a goodguy. "Hi Luke!" Then Billy's mouth dropped open when he realized, shuttle! "Are you going into space? Can I come?"

That, sadly, hadn't made Luke tall enough to reach the datapad yet.

He bounced up and down, almost being able to reach the bottom level of numbers. "Almost!"

Evey was horrified. "What's wrong with him?"

"People would have to get out of the way," she warned, very seriously.

"Well yeah, 'course it will," Evey agreed, "but what if we're not back before dark and we get lost?"
