"We're gonna go to Dagobah," Luke told the group of tiny people who had followed him up to the shuttle.

He stared way, way up at the datapad that locked the door. "As soon as I can get that open," he said, frowning.

"Nope. Bein' good kids," she said. That never worked on her parents or Chewie or Winter but maybe it would this time.

"Am I supposed to believe that?" Juli asked. "What are you hiding behind your back?"

Oops. She weighed telling the truth against lying and having to tell the truth later. "Just a multitool," she said, totally innocently.

"And just what were you planning on doing with that?" Juli said, not taken in by the appearance of innocence.

"Lots of things," she said, pulling it out to show her but not letting go in case she tried to take it away. "It has a flashlight and a glass thing an I can do lots of things."

"How exciting," Juli said dryly, "but that doesn't answer the question of what you were up on the roof and going to use it for."

"I'm not using for anything," Jaina lied. "I always have it." That part was true. Also not answering that first question bit.

Juli sighed. "Am I going to have to confiscate it?"

"No!" she said quickly, putting it back in her pocket and preparing to bolt if she had to. "It was a present."

"And would the person who gave it to you want you to lie about it?"

It really all depending on the reason behind it, and Jaina figured Han could get behind this. For some reason. "I'm not lying about it," she lied.

"I don't believe you," Juli told her, "and that's not a very nice thing to do."

"Well," Jaina said slowly, "that's your problem." Still keeping her multitool safe and hoping no one would call her parents.

"Am I going to have to call your parents?" Juli asked, though it was entirely a bluff.

Jaina shook her head. Even if they did get called, she was pretty sure her dad would think it was funny. "No reason to."

"There's a reason to," Juli said, "since you're lying to a teacher."

"Am not," said Jaina, who totally still was. "Prove it!"

Juli smiled. "You wouldn't like it if I did that, but I can if you insist."

The sad thing was, curiosity won out over common sense, but she was six. "I insist," she said, trying for her best Leia chin lift.

Juli smiled at the girl. "Luke told me the truth already."

"That's cheating," Jaina said, trying to take the focus off herself. "That's not nice."

"It's not," Juli agreed, "but it does prove that you're lying."

"Fibbing!" Jaina corrected. "I didn't do anything."

Except fail to take a door off.
