The York Gallery; Wednesday [ 04/09 ] -- Grand Opening!

Tonight was finally the night. Everything was perfect, and, while perfect wasn't quite good enough for Charlotte, she figured it would just have to do. The gallery quietly seemed to glisten with its newness, its modernity, large opened spaces and smaller, quieter nooks and alcoves. Covered the walls on large, bright canvases were the works of Satoshi Matsuyama, colorful, exotic landscapes in a style as lush as their subjects. Smaller pieces by the artist also peppered the area on smaller canvases and, in a small section flanked by curtains, there sat a spread of hors devours and a fountain of punch, which was likely to be spiked probably three seconds into it, thus negating Charlotte's choice to not serve champagne as she normally would at an opening, considering the youthfulness of her current audience.

The York Gallery was open!

[[ open open! Up early due to me having to duck out for a bit first ]]

Eve was so not looking forward to going to her boss and saying "Hey, guess what? I are a boy today!"

So it was a rather awkward-looking boy!Eve that was seeking out Charlotte.

Naminé had planned on stopping in to help, and now was fidgeting a bit, wondering if this was a terrible idea.

She cleared her throat. "Charlotte?"

Nathan was there. He wore a suit since A) he guessed this event wasn't going to be black tie and B) Nathan liked wearing suits.

He looked at the pictures and tried to decide if he liked them.

Johnny and Savannah were going to be social. Both felt like they could use it after the last few days. And having Savannah near him, he could make sure she was dealing alright; if she looked weak, tired, he would take her right back to the dorms.

As it was, she looked beautiful tonight and he told her so, again. "You are gorgeous this evening."

There weren't many times since the pageant that Amber was able to dress up and go somewhere. And she loved art, not that she was an artist, but she did think she could pick out a pretty picture well enough. She thought these were gorgeous and stood in front of a particular one (http://www.love-peace-happiness.com/gallery/blessed_are/), gazing upon it with rapt appreciation for the artists' skill.

"Mark" was there, because "she" had promised to be there and was not backing out even if Fandom had thrown her a bit of a curveball. "She" had George Michael with her, but was being careful to keep an appropriate distance.

George Michael was trying not to stand too close to "Mark". Because that would just be weird.

Walking into the gallery had A.J. in a state of anxious, excited nervousness, and, for once, it had nothing to do with the girl with him. Just a few steps in and A.J. could just feel that strong force, that overwhelming pull, of the fact that this was the sort of place he'd practically almost always want to be, more often than not because it was his works on the walls or his projects being circle around and looked at and commented on and analyzed, while the synergy and energy of the gathering of artistic minds buzzed louder than the florescent lights illuminating them from above.

So, so, so cool... He glanced over at Annette with him with the biggest, dorkiest grin on his face.

Billy, dressed quite nicely, if not formally, had decided to try something new and check out the art gallery.

He found, to his surprise, that he really liked the art. Three pieces in particular. He honestly wasn't sure if they were for sale or just display.

Sean hadn't been to an art gallery since his last breakup -- the last boyfriend had been an artist, and galleries just had too many reminders -- but this was a small place, after all, and you had to support your fellow businessmen. Or in this case, businesswoman.

He meandered aimlessly around the gallery, checking out the art and mingling. If there was one thing he was good at, it was mingling.

Sokka walked around, admiring the art. "Ooooooooh... It's like poetry -- in a picture!"

Naminé was enthralled. And looking like Roxas, yes, but mostly: enthralled.

Annette helped herself to a small plate of nibbles and a glass of punch, enjoying herself very much.

This (http://www.love-peace-happiness.com/gallery/murmur/) one's my favorite.

And Eve apologizes to her boss for being a boy.
