Caritas, Saturday evening

D'Argo had been holed up at town hall today, so poor Tino was once again at the bar. He'd sort of stopped cursing D'Argo's name for that and was instead looking forward to the tips.

[Only around for another hour or so, so it'll be a mod Tino night. However, BEAR ME.]

The bear.. she was bored.

There had been chaos and destruction and the was fun, but now she had decided to sneak off from the rest of the bears and have a few drinks.

A bear made its way up to the stage to sing its little heart out.

It growled "Feelings." It was amazing.

Savannah had rested in bed all day and needed to get out for a little bit. It had taken some doing, but Johnny had finally been convinced to take her down to Caritas.

Sitting at the bar, she ordered a rum and coke and he had a beer.

Nathan had plans to meet with Charlotte. He got to Caritas early, snagged a scotch for himself, and settled in to wait.

He spent his time wondering if he was going to react to the bears, or pretend he didn't see them.

It would appear that, no matter how hard she tried, Charlotte was finding it impossible to pretend to ignore the bears. And she tried very hard; they were just that difficult to ignore, especially when so many of them were just so darned cute. She got to the bar; a set time hadn't been set, but she hoped it wasn't either too earlier or too late, but if it was late, it should well be fashionably so with how much trouble she went through trying to pick out an outfit and then just going with the little black dress she'd tried on first. She got herself a Cosmo before spotting Nathan and headed over.

She meant to just give him a hi in greeting, but what came out was, "Please tell me that you saw all the bears, too."

Well, at least they made for a quick and easy conversational topic, right?

"Yes," Nathan replied. He was starting to realize that one of the benefits of Fandom was that him flying was a non-entity amongst all the weirdness. "Are you okay?"

"I think some of them had laser guns," Charlotte commented, eyes a little wide as she slide into a seat, avoiding a direct answer to the question because she wasn't sure what that answer would be. She'd avoided them well enough, so her physical state was fine, but the mental was a bit up to debate. "I don't care what anyone else says, I cannot see myself getting used to all this."

Settling, Charlotte took a sip of her drink, shook her head lightly, and then sighed, glancing over at Nathan and finally said "Hi, Nathan, it's nice to see you," with a slight smile.

Nathan smiled back. "It's good to see you too, Charlotte."

Amazingly enough, Nathan was being sincere.

There was a bear in the lounge. A few empty bottles were with him and he looked like he was sleeping.

That brought on a rather bright smile that seemed to push the bears out of Charlotte's mind for at least a little bit. "How've you been since Wednesday?" she asked before taking another sip. Ages ago, really.

Getting his usual from Tino, Barney eyed the bears at the bar. They were no more disturbing than the tentacle dude who tried to punch him that time. He just hoped none of them disturbed his special bar time.

"Well," Nathan said. "My office hours were quiet, as far as I know Peter isn't spending time with bears. Throw in the good company and I have nothing to complain about."

A bear growled for a drink from Tino before settling in next to Barney.

Barney turned and stared. What was up with the strange flocking to him?

"How do you plan on drinking that, anyway?" he asked, looking at the bear's drink. "And please, order something less obvious than mead next time."

"As far as you know?" Charlotte asked, with the tone of someone who couldn't understand why anyone would. Unless is was one of those little baby ones. They were too, too cute. "Is he the type that would want to?"

"He likes trying to see if he can give me grey hairs," Nathan said. "I think it's a little brother's job. Kind of like my job is protecting him."

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] perfectmissyork.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
With a light grin, Charlotte stretched her neck up a little in a clear, playful attempt to get a better glance at the top of Nathan's head. "He hasn't succeeded with the grey hairs, now, has he?"

"Not yet. I hope." Nathan smoothed a hand over his still-dark hair. "My hope is that one of these days he'll settle down and stop trying."

The bear looked back at his mead, displeased with that realization. "GRRRRARR!" it roared, baring its teeth and smashing the glass with a giant paw.

Which solved the problem, as the bear could now lick the mead off the bar.

It was a pretty impressive head of hair, at least as far as Charlotte could tell in the lights of the bar. "Probably a while, I'd imagine," she commented with a small smile, sipping her drink again, "but you seem to have a while to go, at least."

"If Peter doesn't age me early nothing will," Nathan said. He paused, listening to what he'd just said. "That's just asking for trouble, isn't it?"
