Turtle & Canary; Saturday [ 04/26 ]

In a rare turn of events, Turtle was actually reluctant to go into the store today, considering that last night had been nice and this morning had been even nicer, and her suspicions were confirmed because it turned out that Apu was in quite the complaining mood, going on and on about all the noise coming from the park today.

"Apu," she muttered, rubbing her temple, "can you please just can the complaining? I'm sure whatever it was, it's some Fandom thing and we're better of just not knowing and avoiding it and hoping for a nice, quiet day."

"Miss Turtle, I am sorry, but I do not think it will be one of those days."

"Oh, go...clean up in Aisle Seven, or something."

Today's Squishy flavors: Chocolate Chip Cookie, Spaghetti-O's, Grape Judas

Turtle & Canary is open.

"Science made me and you and Dad took me home and Dad called me Michael and and..." Michael trailed off, thinking. "An' I don't remember that part much 'cause I was only little."

"Which you're not now," said Mohinder, still bemused, but the back of his mind niggled at the daughter he'd left on her own.

Michael's mop of dark hair shook as he agreed with that. "I'm this big." He stood on his toes and stuck his hand in the air. Mohinder couldn't help but grin.

Michael followed Mohinder to the front of the store. "Can I we go home now?" I'm not tired, I'm hungry and - his mouth broke open in a yawn - I want to play.

He watched Mohinder pay for the things, smiling widely and making grabby motions at the spaceship as it was packed and bagged. "I'm gonna be an astronaut or a 'tective when I'm big," he told Mohinder. This week he was.

"Not a scientist?" asked Mohinder wryly, not noticing half of what he'd heard hadn't involved his ears. He pulled his son - waving his toy in arcs as wide as he could make - towards the door.

"Dad says being a scientist is too dangerous," Michael announced. "Maybe later," he added, not wanting to upset his dad.

"Are we going home?" he asked.

Home. Not exactly, thought Mohinder. Or not the one you left this morning.

"I'm staying here for a while," he told Michael, thinking fast. "Matt's at home with Molly, we'll go back to them soon." Hopefully after Mohinder had found an explanation for why he was a father twice over, though that might take some time.

Michael trotted after Mohinder. He worried too much, Michael thought, but didn't say when his dad insisted on taking his hand as they headed home.
