Turtle & Canary: Monday

Jamie had spent most of the weekend recovering from his hangover and avoiding small children. Mostly because small children who figure out his mutant power inevitably end up kicking the shins of said mutant. However duty calls and since Apu was on his own last week, Jamie couldn't skip another shift without fear of retribution from Turtle or that spotted head guy.

Upon entering the store however he was immediately attacked by the store's security system and therefore spent a good portion of the day sitting on top of the counter or being chased by the robotic dog.

Today's Squishy Flavors are: Red, Grape Judas, Bubblegum

Z stopped by for provisions (aka Cheetos) after enjoying a nice, childless walk through town.

Then she saw Jamie. "Dude."

"Dudette," Jamie said keeping an eye on the robotic dog. "How've you been?"

"Oh, you know. Usual. Finished high school, went to prom, stole from a crazy pixie who wanted to burn my dress...why are you on the counter?"

"The crazy dog-bot seems interested in attacking me," Jamie explained. "Though congratulations on the whole high school thing... Why did a pixie want to burn your dress?"

"That's right," said Z, "you didn't see it. Apparently it offended her good taste, but I liked it...dude."

"Well from what I've heard on the radio she seems to be a drunken pixie with rage issues," Jamie noted. "Maybe your dress caused some trauma disorder"

"She's completely insane, but she gave me cute shoes...um, okay, I'm not sure how to say this, but, what happened to your face?"

Jamie let out a little sigh. "It's a long story. But the summary of it would be that I was sent to the future to try and find out about a certain mutant and I got thrown in an internment camp for my kind. The tattoo is how they marked us."

He gave her a weak grin. "Admit it. It looks hot, right?"

It doesn't but he's trying to have a sense of humor about it.

"Darn. I thought it sucked to be me...I've seen worse," Z said. At least it wasn't, like, horribly blurry. "Could be your ex's name, I mean, that would really be bad."

"I can always say it was supposed to be 'Madrox' but it was too painful to finish," Jamie joked. "At least the guy didn't have a sense of humor and put a unicorn on my face. That would have been embarrassing."

"Or an anatomical sketch," Z said. "Although that could've been kind of funny." She tilted her head. "It could stand for multiples, too. Or what is it? Multiple Dude?"

"Multiple Man," Jamie smirked. "Which is a name the Fantastic Four labelled me with so don't give me any grief about that one. So, graduate, how long are you going to stick around this little island?"

"Approximately as long as I can get away with it," Z admitted. "I dunno. I guess it kind of partially depends on Bridge and Sky."

"Multiple Man? Are the Fantastic Four terribly dirty-minded?"

"I'm thinking that some who goes by the name Mr. Fantastic has spent a little too much time watching adult entertainment," Jamie joked. "So are you guys still doing that police academy thing?"

"...Mr. Fantastic," Z said, giggling. "Yeah, we have to go, you know, save the world. Giant robot and all that."

"Didn't I hear something about a giant robot recently?" Jamie said scratching his head. "Something about furniture? Or was I having an episode."

"There was totally a giant robot," Z confirmed. "Made of IKEA furniture. And we fought a giant bear. Did you miss this?"

"I came home the day after it happened," Jamie said with a little smirk. "I wasn't sure if that was the truth or a side effect of some very good painkillers."

"It was completely true," Z told him. "I was the Gold Fandom Ranger. My Zord? Nesting tables." Jamie was totally allowed to laugh at her.

It was a good thing because Jamie almost bust a gut.

"Nesting tables? Did it shoot out Swedish Meatballs or coasters?"

"No," Z said, grinning. "No, Ad--the Teal Ranger's Zord shot out the Swedish meatballs."

Jamie laughed hard at that. "What did your's shoot?"

Z shook her head. "Oh, mine didn't shoot anything. But there was a sword made out of a CD tower."

"Actually? That's kind of awesome."

"It kind of was," Z said in tones of fond remembrance. "Sorry you missed it. The bears had lasers."

"No. Seriously."

"I love this town," Jamie said with a grin. "We never get that kind of invasion back home."

"We don't get, like, the fun invasions," Z said. "Instead we get aliens or demons or something. But only in California for some reason."

"Yeah, but you also get giant robots," Jamie pointed out. "That's all sorts of awesome."

"Yeah, but the bad guys have giant robots, too," Z pointed out.
