Turtle & Canary, Wednesday, 5/7
"Stay, Roman brethren! Gracious conqueror," Amber was pacing back and forth behind the counter, glancing every so often at her lines in the play Titus Andronicus she was to be starring in as she read out loud, practiced out loud. She hated the character she would be portraying; Tamora, Queen of the Goths. She was utterly evil. Cold. Oh... not at first, of course, but her true colors showed themselves early enough that Amber wondered how she could play such a morally reprehensible creature and absorb the character fully.
"Victorious Titus, rue the tears I shed, a mother's tears in passion for her son:," she continued on, unmindful of Apu staring at her, possibly wondering what the hell she was doing.
It didn't matter. Amber would use every spare moment she had to practice her lines, her acting skills. Not that she would shirk her duties at work, no, but clearly she was engrossed wholly in the lines she was reading.
Today's Squishy Flavors: Red (like blood), Buzzard black, Sinfully wicked (most likely very very hot)
Turtle & Canary is open!

Talk to Amber
Re: Talk to Amber
"Interesting words, Amber," he remarked.

Re: Talk to Amber
"So..." he wandered over and leaned slightly against the counter, "besides reciting a play, do you have anything else planned to occupy your time?"
Re: Talk to Amber
Putting her papers aside, she stepped closer to the counter, arching a brow in casual politeness as he spoke to her. "No, I'm pretty much free everyday, G'Kar. I'm just a girl with next to nothin' to do until classes start," Amber grinned.
Re: Talk to Amber
"Good," he smiled back. "Then hopefully this means you're free for dinner this evening? For a late birthday celebration of sorts."
Re: Talk to Amber
Then she was totally surprised by his offer to take her out to dinner. She blushed and grinned and looked down. "Oh, my gosh, you don't have to make up anythin' for my birthday," she said and then met his eyes again. "I would enjoy it, very much. So yah, I would love to go to dinner with you."
Re: Talk to Amber
He smiled. "It had occurred to me that it has been a long time since I've merely gone out with a friend. Your birthday just provides me with the motivation to do so. I found a very interesting resaurant on the island nearby." He grinned slightly, "But I think I should leave it as a surprise for you."
Re: Talk to Amber
Oh, Amber liked surprises. "I wouldn't even think to ask you about it! I love surprises!"
Re: Talk to Amber
ahem!Jamieapparently can," he smirked."Very good!" he smiled brightly. "I'm sure you'll find it interesting. I know I did just from the brochure." He frowned a little, "I suppose I'll have to find a hat of sorts so I won't stand out so much. Unless they are used to seeing aliens in Greece, that is."
Re: Talk to Amber
She considered that. "Well, um, it's Fandom in Greece so... maybe? Can I ask what kinda place it is so I know how to dress?"
Re: Talk to Amber
"An upscale place. I don't think jeans would work well there. But I don't think it'll require you to wear a ball gown either," he smirked.

And also needed to see what he had in the way of attire for himself. "I'll see you later this evening, Amber."
He smiled and waved as he headed out of the shop.
Re: Talk to Amber
This was going to be great. And if anyone stared at him? She was going to give them the bitch-face.
