The new students had arrived.

And the teachers, of course-- so maybe he'd scanned the radio for a certain someone (came up with someone else, and that wasn't something he was particularly pleased about). Now Cable was seated behind the desk, holding the baby on one arm while he listened to the last three radio podcasts.

It was the name that attracted Worf more than anything else. Not many cultures, let alone humans, understood the needs of a warrior.

Worf entered the store and nodded at what he assumed was the owner.

"Greetings," he said respectfully.

Cable glanced up from his record-keeping, the baby still quietly sleeping on his arm.

Well. She was quietly sleeping now, anyway. "Morning," he replied, easily. "Can I help you?"

"Your meditation center," Worf inquired. "What is the cost to use it?"

"No cost." Cable settled a little further back in his seat. "I've always believed that simply getting the customers more... centered... was more than enough."

"A healthy philosophy," Worf replied. "Does an appointment need to be made to use the facility? I have tried to use the cabins and the dorms and have found it to be... unsatisfactory."

Hinata wasn't entirely sure that she was up to talking to anyone else today, but at the same time it wasn't as if she could just... ignore... a sign like that.

It was, possibly, the most familiar thing about this place besides the campfires. Both Kiba and Shino used weapons far more than she did, but that didn't mean she wasn't familiar with them and meditation was always a good thing.

She peeked her head in. "A-ano, hello?"

Cable paused, glancing over the top of his laptop.

Apparently, today was actually a work day. "Hello," he replied, without hesitation, "Come in."

She slipped in, a small slip of a girl with a forehead protector tied around her neck, and clasped her hands in front of her.

"I-I was merely interested in your sign," she said cautiously, "a-and in the sort of weapons you sold."

Not for her though. Hinata simply thought that Kiba and Shino might be interested in hearing what there was to buy in a different... world? Universe? Place.

His eyes flicked to the cases, once; then to the forehead protector, and finally to the girl's face. "I take it you're Konohan," Cable said, took a little mental stock and tapped some keys on his laptop.

She started, hands coming up to press together nervously. "A-ano, I am from Konohagakure, yes." Hinata bowed hurriedly. "I a-am Hyuuga Hinata." A peek up at the man. "D-do you know Ino-san then?"

Temari walked in, looking the room over first automatically for exits and potential threats and... meditation room. Interesting.

She nodded to the man at the desk.

She got a nod in return for her trouble. "Can I help you?" Cable ventured.

His customer service tone was rock solid, at this point. Don't mind the baby he was also still trying to soothe.

"A tessen," Temari said, focus going to the baby for a moment before dismissing it again. "Do you have one?"

"I might," Cable replied, fixing calm eyes on her. Forehead protector. Ino's world, then, but he was fairly sure it wasn't the same emblem. Kabuto's?

No.

And then the baby started crying. He rubbed his forehead and bit back a comment about timing.

"It's a yes or no question," She informed him dryly, ignoring the baby as best she could.

Rikku bounced in around midday, before class. Because he'd let her miss her shift for newbie day (hooray!) and that meant not seeing the little one and she had to check up on Cable. And the little one.

"Hiya!"

"Hello, Rikku," Cable offered, with faint amusement. "I see you survived the weekend."

"I did!" she bounced. "And so did you and so did your little one and oh my gosh, she's getting so big. Yes, you are! Yes, you are. So, uh, so how's the store?"

Totally talking to him again. Not the infant. Right. Good.

"The store is fine," Cable replied. His tone was dry, but the amusement was obvious: "We have a new employee. And yes, she's grown."

He felt it was always better to answer Rikku's questions independently of each other.

"Who's working here now?" she asked, bouncing on her toes. "Can I still have Fridays or should I switch? And does she need more clothes and all that? Who's so big? You're so big! You're a big girl!"

Her natural tendency to ramble got worse around babies. Unfortunately.

The shooting range can only be entered after obtaining permission from Cable, at which point you are On The List. Explanations are fun.

Hi, new kids!

The Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center is heavy on the promoting the latter and a little difficult on the obtaining the former (AKA we offer no guarantees to you actually walking out with a weapon on the other end; Cable is an odd and unfickle man. Unfickle is totally a word).

Mostly Cable just uses it as his personal weapons stockpile, but that's not the official policy, shhh.
