Faith was bored. So she decided to amuse herself by attempting to do that flipping-bottles thing that Tom Cruise did in that one movie of his.

Yeah. Fail. And now Faith was wet and flammable. So much for smoking tonight.

Caritas was open. And it wasn't that funny, Tino.

Tyler had finished his lesson plans for the week, which called for a reward. He eyed the brunette behind the bar before ordering, sizing her up. "Beer please?"

"Only 'cause you said please," Faith said sweetly, grabbing a mug and heading to the tap. "You new here?"

"So what would have happened if I hadn't?" Tyler asked with a grin. "And yes and no. This is my first time teaching."

"In that case," Faith purred, sliding the glass over to Tyler - and leaning conveniently on the bar, that's what it was there for, right? - "I would've asked you what the magic word was. You been here before?"

The purring and the leaning were certainly a way to keep a guy's attention, at least. "Good thing I remembered my manners," he said, then took a sip of beer.

"Was a student," he supplied. "Then I left, and there's a whole time travel thing that makes me crazy if I think about it too much. How long have you been here?"

Murdock had scored a second date. yay! Time for a bit of a celebratory drink. "I'll have a beer, please."

It was around that time, and lots of new faces kept popping up in her bar. Fair question.

"End of last year," Faith shrugged, sliding him his beer. "October, maybe? Something? Fall. I remember that. Kinda ... came in for a weekend, ended up sticking around. What d'you teach?"

Ah. The bar.

The bar was a good place to be when you weren't eight inches tall and made of plastic. Reno was very, very thrilled to be there, see?

He'd be more thrilled if he wasn't feeling a burning need to get drunk. Wednesdays were going to be like that from here on in, he figured. A class that hit all the right nerves, and then an evening at the bar to drown them.

"Yo," he said, nodding at his favorite bartender. "How's things?"

"Hey," Faith said, giving him a smile. "You been doin' okay? Glad you dropped in. I mean, I can't check up on you, I don't even got your name."

"Never got yours either," Reno agreed with a shrug. "So we're even, yo. Unless we decide to trade, or whatever."

He offered up a bit of a smile. "Things've been worse," he decided. "Thinkin' too much, is all. About this an' that."

Those who have power use it. Life happens.

"Some moments, it ain't even the end of the world. And others, I gotta wonder if the world's just tryin' to choke me out." Another shrug. "Maybe I'll take it easy tonight. Beer or somethin'. Feelin' dry, but don't gotta drown in it, either."

"Faith," she said, grabbing a mug and heading for the tap. "That's not advice, that's me. Skip the puns. You ever need me in a hurry, it's 555-KNVS, or you find Dawnie. You know Dawn?"

One hand on the tap, the other holding the mug in place, not too much head foaming over. "Beer's a good place to start. Specially when you're thinkin' too much. Just 'cause you've gotta carry it don't mean you gotta let it kick you in the nuts all day long."

"Yo, boss!" Reno waved hello with one hand, clutching his beer close with the other. "Good to be back to my normal size. If I had to spend one more day stuck in a plastic version of Mini, I was gonna start gettin' cranky."
