Coming out of the back work room, Tony paused upon seeing a random teenage girl in his shop.

Oh right, employee.

"Kandy." So he wasn't great with names sometimes.

"There's candy?" she asked, eyes wide. "Hi, Mr. Stark! How's the day treatin' you?"

"Great," He replied, reaching for some copper wire. "And you... Cindy?"

Kaylee frowned, then finally caught on. "Kaylee," she corrected. "Can't complain!"

Pulling away to go back, he paused. "How good are you at working with a soldering gun?"

"Not bad," she said thoughtfully, tilting her head. "We don't use 'em too much where I'm from but I know how they work and I've played with 'em."

"What do you use, then?" Tony asked, waving vaguely as he continued back.

"We have a couple tools for fusion like that, like radion core equip," she said brightly, trailing after him. "Nothin' wrong with doing things the old fashioned way, though."

"Old fashioned--" Tony frowned, setting the coil of wire down next to a small circular device he had half complete on the work table.

"Bring some of those things here some time." Hopefully tomorrow. Or something.

"Okay," she said, nodding brightly. "I can bring all my stuff. Lots of it kinda just looks like what y'all use now, though."

"Well today you're going to help be build an arc reactor, think you can do that?" Tony asked, uncoiling some wire and cutting a length off.

"Sure!" she chirped.

Pause.

"What's an arc reactor?"

"Something that can power a lot with a small amount," Tony said, handing over the soldering gun. "It'll glow nice and pretty for you when it's done."

"Oooh." Kaylee took the soldering gun, peering at the little round dealie. "Like a battery?"

He pointed to a few spots in the circle. "I need you to solder these down, okay?"

She nodded, leaning in close to the circular thingie and getting to work. "What's it for?"

Tony paused. "Something important."

Kaylee raised a brow, but didn't pry. "Then I better do my best work."

Tony nodded, looking over his plans for a moment. "Don't screw up."

Another nod and a small smirk and Tony went back to the blue prints for something a lot more complex than an miniature arc reactor.

"Good."
