No, Chad didn't usually have the store open on Saturday, but it was today, to make up for him going on that trip yesterday. Not that there was much to opening the store anyway, considering he was just chilling out with Prince Oscar Pedro, listening to some of the new music that came in and flipping through a magazine.

There was also a bowl of candy for customers on the counter. Yes, Chad knew there was candy falling from the sky. In fact, it was the same candy. Chad was just kind of special like that.

Anyone mentioning that Mandy Moore song will be bodily removed from the premises.

Being outdoors with all the falling candy had been cute for a little bit, but then Brooke had gotten tired of being pelted with Dots. Which would be why she ducked into the store for a minute just to get out of the, uh, rain.

"Hey there, big brother," she greeted him.

Chad lifted his hand in a wave. "Hey, little sis. What's up?"

"Candy, at least until it falls down and I get hit with it," she said, running a hand through her hair to dislodge a gummy bear. "I thought I'd stop and say hi before I went back out to deal with all the falling calories."

"You should get an umbrella," Chad offered, oh-so-helpfully.

"Oh, sure, get all logical," Brooke said lightly. "I don't know, I think I'd feel weird using one for candy. Though I feel weird getting hit in the head with it, too..."

"I don't mind," Chad said. "So long as Prince Oscar Pedro stays away from the chocolate. An' I'm glad that some of the candy is wrapped candy, because then you don't feel gross about eating it after it's been on the ground."

"You found a bright side! Okay, if I can admit something?" she said. "It was sort of fun trying to catch candy on my tongue like they're snowflakes. I was very seven years old for a while there."

"...Aww; that's cute. Did you manage to get a lot?"

"About two gumdrop thingies before I got hit in the eye and it wasn't fun anymore," Brooke said. "Score one for real snowflakes."

"Two's not bad," Chad nodded, approving and a little impressed. "I couldn't get any."

"Did you have your eyes open and try to aim for it?" she wondered.

"Um...yeah. A bit."

And, for the most part, he did. Opened eyes didn't help with hair in them, though.

"Well then the sky needs to aim better," Brooke said reasonably.

"To be fair," Chad countered lightly, because he did rather like the sky, "it does have a lot of candy that it's dropping."

"Which might be its own fault, you never know," she countered.

Chad frowned a little as he took a moment or two to consider this.

"That...is true," he said. "It's not our fault it can't hold its own candy."

"Maybe next time it'll learn," she said seriously. "Wow, I never used to have conversations like this outside this town."

That got a faint grin started in the corner of Chad's mouth. "People could see ghosts where I'm from," he said, "and I had a possessed parakeet. So this isn't so weird."

Brooke's eyes widened. Okay that was new. "Possessed parakeet?"

"Good possessed!" Chad added quickly, not wanting Brooke to get the wrong idea. "By the soul of a kid name Yuichi. Everyone thought he was an evil spirit, though, because bad things always happened around him, but it wasn't his fault. It was just that Hollows had been trying to get him, and so, where ever he went, they showed up, and, since most people can't see 'em, people just thought it was him."

"Huh," she said slowly. "Okay, I think everyone has a way more interesting life than me."

"...Sometimes that's not a bad thing, you know," Chad said after a moment of thought regarding that.

"Yeah, I know, but it makes my stories really boring," she said.

"Maybe," Chad said, "but you'll make up for it later, when you're a big famous designer. Then you'll have really great...famous designer stories."

"That's what I like to hear," Brooke said with a smile. Of course her stories would involve drug-addicted anorexic models and such, but still. "Okay. I should probably go ahead and... taste the rainbow or whatever's going on out there."

Hey, Chad was looking forward to having a few of those stories himself. He gave a nod. "I still think an umbrella would help," he said, "but you're in the wrong store for that."

So will anyone who gives into giving Prince Oscar Pedro chocolate.
