Last night's radio broadcast had given Faith an idea, and Faith and Ideas were dangerous things. So there was a huge jar on the bar countertop that said:

STRIPPER POLE FUND

with a little disclaimer at the bottom:

If Faith's boss don't go for the idea, Faith's keeping the money.

Caritas was open.

Donate to the fund. 'S important and all that.

Especially if Jolee decides to fire Faith's ass for asking.

Barney was exhausted after spending the last night or day or maybe two - it was hard to keep track - with some exceptionally buxom island natives.

That didn't stop him from reading the sign and loading the jar with cash. "If the old man puts in a pole, I expect a private show," he told Faith, slumping onto a stool.

It was hard to keep track of that kinda thing. Faith sympathized, there.

"Old man puts in a pole, you can hang out and watch like everyone else," she snickered. "You get your own pole, and you can get a private show. Deal?"

Dawn bounced into the bar, grinned at the sign, and dropped in a couple of dollars before plopping herself onto a stool.

Faith cracked up. "Hey, kiddo. We get a pole in here, you ain't allowed to dance on it. What're you drinking tonight?"

"How come?" She asked, having no intention of dancing on it until Faith said she couldn't. "Um...surprise me?"

Surprising her meant a strawberry daiquiri, and hoping Dawn hadn't meant something non-alcoholic, 'cause there weren't a lot of surprises that didn't have liquor in here. She could always make up a virgin one later if Dawnie didn't want to drink a little.

"'Cause there'd be skeevy guys in here yellin' for you to take it all off, and Mr. Amazing Hands would try to beat 'em up, and I probably would, too," she admitted. "Huh. Guess it's a big sister thing. You get your own pole and wanna give him a private show, though, I'm all for that."

Renee put down five dollars for the fun.

"I'll give more if it's in your apartment instead."

Dawn's eyes widened as she took a sip and got a mouthful of real daquiri. Not bad, just...wow. She took another sip, this one much more casual.

"Okay, first," she said, giggling, "Can we please call him Sam when we're out in public? Second, I can't put a pole in the room--he'd have a heart attack or something."

Sokka had heard radio last night, yes he had. He dropped a ten in the jar and tried to pretend like he wasn't looking around for anyone who might be going for the advertised free drink.

"Something fun and exciting," he ordered, giving Faith his smoothest grin.

"That requires me rememberin' his name's Sam," Faith snickered. "The other one's kinda more memorable. I'll see what I can do. And if he didn't die of the heart attack, that'd be a pretty good night. Boys are resilient when they wanna be."

"You drive a hard bargain," Barney mused. "There would be many benefits to installing a pole in the house." He wondered how Vala would feel about private shows.

Or Harriet. Mmm...Coog!

"Wonder if Xander would let me install one," Faith smirked. "If I get one, do I get a show, too?"

Renee dancing on a pole, that'd be worth the whole price of getting one.

"You okay there?" Faith asked, raising an eyebrow. "You know the pole ain't gonna magically show up when I get enough cash, right? And how fun and exciting we talkin'?"

The kid did not have the aura of a big drinker to him.

"Pretty sure I ain't the only girl who could get talked into that kinda thing," she grinned. "Get a pole, you might have all kinds of private showings going on. Most girls like the thought of struttin' their stuff and don't got the balls to do it in public."

"Sam's shy," Dawn whispered, "and hasn't had you and Anya to guide her, though Dean's done his best, I think."

"If you do first."

"Gettin' a pole might be a good way to start," Faith grinned. "Or just make it a show sometime, peeling things off and throwing them and grinding to some music. Don't need a pole to strip."

"Sold," Faith said. "And I'm calling his ass tomorrow. You back out on this and I'm gonna be pissed."

"Faith!" Blushing bright red and feeling her cheeks heat with it, Dawn sipped at her drink again. It didn't help the problem. "I don't think I could do that."

"Hey, I'm just contributing money to a worthy cause," Sokka insisted. "I'm not expecting magic, just hoping your charity raises enough."

He shrugged. "Give me a... I don't know. Something fruity, something fizzy, something with umbrellas and a twisty straw...?"

"As long as you don't take pictures or anything," Renee added, smirking.
