Trooper Station - Saturday

Roy stood with his back against the entrance door of the station. The view was more than a little disturbing and he held out his hand as it started to rain, the ashes staining his white gloves.

As soon as he'd realised what had happened, he'd gone to the island to offer his help. He'd been reassured that they'd been living there for years and could handle this just fine. Not that it eased Roy's mind, but there hadn't been much point pushing his help on anyone. So he'd made it back and made the troopers set up arrangements in case anything happened that might influence Fandom.

With both the ocean between Fandom and Bali Hai and the cliffs surrounding most parts of the island, it seemed like Fandom would be safe. Nevertheless, he'd figured out which points might need to be reinforced if things got very ugly or if the ash fall got too bad.

So for now, there didn't seem to be a whole lot more he could do but keep an eye on the situation.

Aly made her way into the station, brushing ash out of her hair and off her shirt as she came in. "I prefer candy rain," she commented, finding her way to Roy.

He glanced up, smiling a little as she entered his office. There was a map of Fandom on his desk and the papers beside it all seemed to be on volcanoes. "I don't think anyone will disagree with you."

She somehow found a path to his side of the desk, leaning down to demand a kiss. "Making contingency plans?"

"Better to be safe," he murmured, reaching up to cup her cheek as he gave in to her demand. He was easy like that, especially when it concerned kisses.

Aly kissed him back, possibly deciding that he needed distraction for a moment. "Whatever you say, worrywort."

"It's my job," he pointed out, but maybe he agreed on the distraction thing as he tugged her down for a second kiss.

She chuckled, finding a way to squirm into his lap. "To be a worrywort?"

It was nice how he didn't have to prompt her to be exactly where he wanted her to be. His arms slid around her as he settled back in his chair. "I like to think of it as being prepared for anything."

"Something like that," Aly said teasingly.

"Someone has to do it," he poked her stomach lightly.

She caught his hand, teasingly starting to bend his thumb backwards. "None of that now."

He raised an eyebrow at the threat and smirked at her. "Why not? You wouldn't hurt me."

"But I wouldn't kiss you anymore," she pointed out, wiggling in his lap.

Evil and his fingers pressed against her back. "You would."

"Can't prove it," Aly teased, leaning up to kiss under his chin.

"You like it too much," he argued. It was almost a challenge as he tilted his head down to prove his words.

"Me?" she smirked. "Like it? I don't know what you're talking about."

His hand shifted to her side, fingers brushing lightly in a warning that could very easily turn into tickling. "Liar."

"Going to torture it out of me?" Aly teased, nipping at his jaw.

"Mmmmm," he tilted his head to whispered in her ear, knowing full well the effect it might have on her. "It's called tickling."

Her breath caught, and Aly tilted her head further into his. "I've heard it before."

"It's very effective," he murmured, nuzzling the spot below her ear even as his fingers were threatening her.

"So you'd have me cry mercy?" she asked, her voice lower now.

He was grinning now and the threat turned into a caress. "I do enjoy it when you do."

Aly turned to him, her lips brushing over his. "I enjoy the revenge more."
