Trooper Station - Saturday

Roy stood with his back against the entrance door of the station. The view was more than a little disturbing and he held out his hand as it started to rain, the ashes staining his white gloves.

As soon as he'd realised what had happened, he'd gone to the island to offer his help. He'd been reassured that they'd been living there for years and could handle this just fine. Not that it eased Roy's mind, but there hadn't been much point pushing his help on anyone. So he'd made it back and made the troopers set up arrangements in case anything happened that might influence Fandom.

With both the ocean between Fandom and Bali Hai and the cliffs surrounding most parts of the island, it seemed like Fandom would be safe. Nevertheless, he'd figured out which points might need to be reinforced if things got very ugly or if the ash fall got too bad.

So for now, there didn't seem to be a whole lot more he could do but keep an eye on the situation.

She arched her back to press into him. "What about now?"

He snorted and nipped at her jaw. "Closer."

"Does that make us safer?" she teased.

He laughed and combed his fingers through her hair as he leaned his forehead against hers. "What do you think?"

Aly smiled, reaching up to touch his cheek. "You should feel safe with me. I'll protect you."

"Mmmmmm," he brushed his hand down her back, looking for the knife she usually kept there. "I do feel safer now," he agreed.

The knife was there without question, and Aly chuckled, enjoying as always his touching of her weapons. "Good."

"As long as you're not the only one protecting," he murmured, nuzzling her cheek.

"To protect and serve, hmm?" she teased, turning to kiss his cheek softly.

"I like to pretend I am not entirely a kept man," he murmured, smiling at the kiss and he was comfortable like this.

"What would I be keeping you for?" she asked with far too much interest.

"Because you know that I'm good," he smirked at her, without anything close to modesty.

"Someone told me that, yeah," Aly smirked back.

He raised an eyebrow. "Who?"

She leaned up to whisper in his ear. "Guess."

Roy tilted his head towards her. "I have no idea," he said innocently.

Aly chuckled and patted his cheek. "Good."

He frowned, certain he had missed something. "Is it?"

"Of course it is," Aly said innocently.

"How so?" he eyed her.

"I'm here, aren't I?"

"Mmmmmm," he eyed her a moment longer before he leaned forward to steal another kiss. "That is a good thing."

Aly kissed him back, her fingers curling over his cheek. "Told you."

"Don't let it go to your head," he murmured, his finger rubbing circled on the back of her neck.

"No need," she teased lightly. "I'm always right."
