Anders was pretty distracted by the, er, natural light show over on Bali Hai, so if he came in tonight and didn't notice anything amiss about the occupants of the Caritas stage right away he had a tenuous excuse.

It wasn't until he started straightening out tables and chairs near the stage that he did realize something was up.

"Okay," he said, glancing at the BANDages. "I know falling apart is sort of a way of life for you but was it really that bad that you guys had to use up probably every ACE bandage on the island?" Beat. Several beats, actually, and a muffled snort of derision from Tino, before Anders noticed the zombie band. If looks could kill, ~~both bands would be casting Full-Life on each other with their gross necrotic eyes~~ they just might end up bringing each other back to life with those glares across the stage.

"Ooooh, scrimmage," Anders said hopefully, and proceeded to camp out behind the bar with a bag of popcorn to see if there would actually be a band throwdown on the stage.

. . . he'd just make Tino clean up the mess afterward, because gross.

Anders has no idea why he feels like the bands are going to try and have a dance-off or something, but there's this whole Sharks-and-Jets vibe going on here.

There's more popcorn to go with the pretzels and beer!

It is a very cheerful-looking Bridge who enters the bar looking for Anders. Not that he's not usually cheerful-looking, but today it's like someone took his usual cheerfulness level and dialled it up a few notches.

"Roomie!" exclaims Anders. "Turn the wattage down, will you? I forgot my sunglasses."

At which point the BANDages lurch into a very bizarre hip-hop-ified version of 'Sunglasses At Night.' Which Anders ignores studiously.

"Wattage?" Bridge blinks. "Am I glowing? Is it Fandom weirdness again?"

"Goof," Anders laughs. "Not literally. But you're like the usual kind of Bridge happy times fifty."

"Oh," Bridge says. "Well, good. That I'm not glowing, at least not more than usual since, you know, auras glow and all that. You know, if people really did start glowing, it's entirely possible I'd miss it since they really kind of already were glowing."

"Do I --" Anders knows this train of thought will only confuse him, so he shakes his head. "You, best roomie ever, are practically a supernova --"

This, as the zombie band, not to be outdone, cranks into 'Champagne Supernova' and tries to be louder than the BANDages.

"-- and I want to know why. Spill, roomie, what's got you so happy?"

"Xander, uh," and there's that gesture that's on its merry way to becoming a habit, now, the reaching up and touching the ring. "On Friday, he asked me, you know," there's a wide, sweeping gesture with his other hand that's meant to indicate... something. "If I wanted to marry him. Which, you know, I said yes. Obviously."

Anders listens to all of this with the habitual ease of someone who's well used to Bridge's ramblings and could follow them in his sleep.

Except for the part where his eyes snap wide open and his jaw drops.

"What? You -- and Xander -- and dude. Dude!"

"Yeah," Bridge can't help but bounce. "It's, you know, there's the whole thing with how people think Friday the 13th is an unlucky day and all that, but after last year's, and then *this* year's, I'm kinda of the opinion that it's the best day *ever*."

And here comes an Anders, vaulting over the bar to bearhug his best friend. "Holy frak you're getting married and oh my gods this is so awesome!"

Bridge has absolutely no objection to being bearhugged. "So, uh. Not that there's an actual date to save, yet, but... be sure to save it when there is one, because I'm gonna kind of need you there."

"No frakkin' way you could keep me away," Anders says brashly. "Tell me when and I'll be there, and taking the SOs with me."

He hesitates. "That is, if you want them there?"

Bridge rolls his eyes. "Um, yes? Duh?"

Anders sags with relief, and then goes right back to jumping up and down and yelling, "Dude, you and Xander! You! And -- you! With the --" He points at the ring. "And -- DUDE!!!"

"Yeah," Bridge grins again. "I know it's not exactly the traditional way to wear one, but. Well. I want people to be able to *see* it, you know?"

"The hell with tradition," Anders says, waving a hand. "That's perfect for you. He's perfect for -- holy frak, dude, my best friend is getting married."

Yes, he may be kind of fixated on this here.

"Speaking of best friends and the things they do," Bridge says. "I can't believe *you* knew about Xander's, uh... other present-type-thing."

"Well," Anders says, and turns to show Bridge the now-uncovered tattoo peeking out from beneath his tank top. (It's summer, okay? Totally tank-top-all-the-time weather.) "Moral support guy ended up being jump-off-a-cliff-with-you guy. Only not literally. Obviously."

"Good. Because I'd be pretty pissed off if my best friend and my boyfr- fiance-" he's not gonna get tired of using that word anytime soon- "went and jumped off a cliff, you know."

"And you and Bel and Phoebe would find a way to get us back just so you could kick our asses for it, I'm pretty sure," Anders replies. "Yeah, no cliff-jumping, thanks. I, uh, take it you liked your present?"

"Well, there's a marker or two that might be sad about the fact that I won't need to use them as often, but. Yeah," he grins.

"I am so frakkin' happy for you guys," Anders says. "This calls for best friend celebration stuff, I think. I mean DUDE!"

"I'm up for celebrating," Bridge admits. Not that he hadn't been doing so already, but that was an entirely different kind of celebrating.

"Then we will definitely have to celebrate," Anders declares. "My treat and everything. What do you feel like doing that's pretty much the party version of jumping up and down and yelling 'wahooooooooooooooo'?"

"Preferably something that doesn't involve zombies or mummies?" Bridge says, casting a glance at the stage.

"Definitely." Anders looks over that way and shakes his head. "Dude, I have no idea about them."

"Is there some sort of like, ancient zombie/mummy rivalry?" Bridge wonders.

"I'm betting they were pirates and ninjas when they were alive," Anders says.

Escape from the seething undead musician enmity -- OR CAN YOU?

And now I have half of West Side Story stuck in my head and it's all my own fault.
