If Charlotte was completely honest with herself, she'd realize that, at the moment, she was running on pure energy and probably too much coffee, but only the former of those things were probably to blame on the new Banksy exhibit. The excitement for this particular one was enough to have her run on what little rest she'd gotten in setting it up, and it was probably easy to see why that was once one got into the main gallery and would see that it had several sections redesigned a bit to imitate the concrete and bricks of urbania to better display some of the recreations of some of his infamous outdoor graffiti work. These were definitely the highlights of the exhibit, although a small area of the gallery retained its usual facade for images of a more traditional medium, in an ironic sense of the word. A collection of drawings were also available for viewing.

The set-up had been hard work, but this was among one of Charlotte's favorite exhibits ever, including some of the things she'd done in New York, so she was thrilled for today's opening.

Even if she felt rather tired.

Before the gallery opens, any help from her employees or just really eager and convincing volunteers would likely be very welcome for the slightly frazzled Charlotte.

Enjoy the artistic controversy and socio-political commentary; Charlotte would be very disappointed if this one didn't get the visitors talking, and she still thinks the lilypad parody (http://www.banksy.co.uk/indoors/01.html) is at the top of her favorites.

The usual ~~moddable~~ assortments of snacks and drinks, especially the neat little punch fountain, were available for consumption.

Words cannot express how much I adore this artist. Seriously. I feel like this whole is an insult for not expressing it enough.

Dale was examining the exhibits with interest, torn between his background in law enforcement in not respecting vandalism and the statement and resolve of the artist.

"You look a little uncertain, Dale," Charlotte commented when she had a chance to break away a bit. Of course, she would have had the chance to have done so sooner, but she wanted him to have a good look around first. "Surely, what with all that research you had done prior to the exhibit, you would have been able to reach a bit more solid of a conclusion regarding his work." Her attempts to be quite serious through all the teasing was a bit spoiled by a grin about a mile wide. She couldn't help feeling far too eager to hear his thoughts on this particular artist.

"Well it's complete different in person," Dale said returning the grin with one of his own. "I have to say that considering the medium that the artist has quite a bit of skill."

Completely different. Uh-huh. Sure. Charlotte smirked a little as she shook her head a little. "Not only skill," she commented, "but he certainly knows how to put it to use, doesn't he?"

"The law enforcement part of me wants to disapprove," Dale said with a chuckle. "But I have to say I admire his panache."

"I wondered if you might have anything to say about that," Charlotte admitted with a slight chuckle. "You'll have to forgive me; I think it's brilliant. I also think that it's interesting that a setting like this? A gallery, featuring this sort of artistic graffiti? Is probably the only way most people who live in cities like London or New York would even notice half of this stuff. Or even bat an eye if they did."

"Oh I agree," Dale said stopping before a particular drawing. "I have to say though I think this one with the shopping carts in an impressionistic style is probably my favorite. No better way to make a statement regarding the state of the planet than that."

"...Or a statement on Impressionistic art, too, for that matter," Charlotte added with a grin, and then she eyed Dale curiously. "But, really? This one's probably your favorite?"

"Absolutely," Dale said continuing to look at it. "I want to get a print of this if that's possible."

"I could definitely arrange that," Charlotte said with a nod, and then her tone took a departure from the professional statement into something lighter.

"You know, Dale," she said, smiling softly at him, "this is probably my favorite, too..."

Juli had promised that she'd be here and, somewhat to her surprise, she found herself rather taken with the art as she wandered through the gallery.

"Really?" Dale said with amusement. "Well I'm glad to hear I have excellent taste."

"Glad to see you made it, Juli," Charlotte greeted the other woman with a smile. She was still beaming quite a bit; her exhaustion hadn't quite settled in yet. "Not that I thought you wouldn't, of course."

"It's a lovely exhibit, Charlotte. I'm glad I came," Juli said, smiling.

"Really," Charlotte beamed, and, despite herself, bounced just a bit before leaning in to give Dale a quick kiss on the cheek. Very quick, of course, because she was working, but it was just such a moment that she had to do something. "And it's really no surprise, really. That you'd have excellent taste, I mean."

"Well I won't argue with the professional art gallery owner," Dale said with a grin as he leaned down for the kiss. "After all you're the one with the background for art. I just like what I like. Say... I don't suppose you have any prints of those dogs playing poker do you?"

Yes. That last bit was a joke.

"I knew you'd probably enjoy it; I have to admit, it's been a while since I was this excited for an exhibit."

Which is what Charlotte said for practically every exhibit, really, but at least she thought she was being sincere every time she said it.

The reaction to the poker playing dogs was quite visceral, joke or not. After all, she couldn't be one hundred percent sure that Dale wasn't serious. "Ew, no." Her head attempted to shake the image out of her head, nose wrinkling a little with her distaste. Despite her best efforts to avoid it, it was just such a deeply ingrained response. "Did you know that there's actually a whole series of those paintings?"

The mere idea, clearly, was practically an affront to all of Charlotte's sensibilities.

Cal wasn't sure if he should be, because, you know, artsy and all that, but he found himself trying not to chuckle at a great many of these. He stuck around those that inspired that response; the ones that didn't seemed to only make him feel awkward and embarrassed (no doubt, the point), but he had enough of that lately, thank you very much.

Idly fiddling with the tie he still wore from his workshop, he wondered, idly, how Banksy's rats there might fare against the illustrious island radio squirrels.

"What inspired you to settle on this one?" Juli asked curiously.
