The York Gallery; Wednesday [ 06/18 ] -- Exhibit Opening!

If Charlotte was completely honest with herself, she'd realize that, at the moment, she was running on pure energy and probably too much coffee, but only the former of those things were probably to blame on the new Banksy exhibit. The excitement for this particular one was enough to have her run on what little rest she'd gotten in setting it up, and it was probably easy to see why that was once one got into the main gallery and would see that it had several sections redesigned a bit to imitate the concrete and bricks of urbania to better display some of the recreations of some of his infamous outdoor graffiti work. These were definitely the highlights of the exhibit, although a small area of the gallery retained its usual facade for images of a more traditional medium, in an ironic sense of the word. A collection of drawings were also available for viewing.

The set-up had been hard work, but this was among one of Charlotte's favorite exhibits ever, including some of the things she'd done in New York, so she was thrilled for today's opening.

Even if she felt rather tired.

[[ Open! Yay Banksy, srsly. ]]

Kevin came by early to see if Charlotte needed any help. Plus, it seemed like the kinda gig where there might be free booze.

"Yes, ma'am," he replied with a smile. "What do you need me to do?" He had even put on a new button down shirt for the evening.

Dale was examining the exhibits with interest, torn between his background in law enforcement in not respecting vandalism and the statement and resolve of the artist.

"Well it's complete different in person," Dale said returning the grin with one of his own. "I have to say that considering the medium that the artist has quite a bit of skill."

Juli had promised that she'd be here and, somewhat to her surprise, she found herself rather taken with the art as she wandered through the gallery.

"It's a lovely exhibit, Charlotte. I'm glad I came," Juli said, smiling.

Cal wasn't sure if he should be, because, you know, artsy and all that, but he found himself trying not to chuckle at a great many of these. He stuck around those that inspired that response; the ones that didn't seemed to only make him feel awkward and embarrassed (no doubt, the point), but he had enough of that lately, thank you very much.

Idly fiddling with the tie he still wore from his workshop, he wondered, idly, how Banksy's rats there might fare against the illustrious island radio squirrels.

As soon as Amber walked in she was overcome by the graffiti. She didn't move far, or walk fast, but slowly did she step in front of each piece and study them as though she were trying to understand the concept behind each one.

This... would most likely take a good deal of time.

Yes, the art and the messages and everything was really interesting, but not interesting enough for Cal to feel like he did a good job of seeming that interested once he spotted Amber. He gave it some time, though, flipping through some of the drawings before he made his way over.

"Hey."

Amber hadn't been looking around actually, other than at the artwork of course, so hadn't yet taken the time to notice if Cal were here or not.

But she was pleasantly surprised when he turned up next to her. "Hey, you made it."

Jolee showed up.

He took a quick look around (and if he seemed to be moving a little faster than might be expected, well, The Force had its uses) and left. He never said he was going to stay long. And he was old, dammit, he needed his sleep.

Mary wasn't about to miss the latest opening, so after work she changed into one of her best dresses and headed to the gallery.

"I needed an excuse to get out and socialize," said Mary, smiling. "The gallery looks fantastic, by the way."

Ohh, Banksy ftw. I have a poster with a bunch of his most famous bits on my wall. <3
