Around Town - Saturday (Kidnapping Post!)

Pain, Panic and a few lesser demons had their orders. They had people to grab and take to the Nightmares in the catacombs of Tartarus. Simple enough, right?

Maybe not, but they hadn't had a direct order from Hades in an unthinkably long time. They weren't going to get this one wrong.

The spirits running around town were giving Gwen the creeps, but staying in the dorms was making her stir-crazy especially with the Vice Principal's deranged announcement, which was how she found herself wandering through the park.

Wandering alone was never a good idea, not when the hordes of Tartarus had been loosed upon the island.

A demon crept up behind her, grinning a sly and evil grin, ready to pounce and drag her down to the catacombs.

Fraser was up early and out the door as soon as possible after hearing the oh so clever announcement from one of his colleagues.

Former colleagues. He would so get fired over this.

He'd made an excuse to Robin that he was just going into his office and that was where he was on his way to right now.

Working on a weekend for any reason was just bad news, as Fraser was about to learn.

A large, horned demon stepped out to block his path. Oddly enough, its skin and scales were the identical colour to Fraser's uniform.

Simple things amuse demon minds, and it grinned a horrible grin.

Zuko had quickly come to regret his decision to go outside that day. His training on the beach had been really short thanks to the ghosts and so he'd quickly headed into town to grab some pastries to surprise Katara with. He still hadn't fully made up his mind on what they should do for her birthday, but breakfast seemed like a good start of the day.

So carefully avoiding ghosts, he made his was into J,GOB for food.

Despite the unusual things that he had heard were going on Andros had still gotten up early to go for his usual morning run, so he was now running through the park, keeping a general eye out in case something was going to happen.

As usual for an early Saturday morning, Gwynn was in the Preserve, keeping her skills in the woods honed and enjoying being part of nature around her. She planned to spend a little more time out here, and then head to the sale to practice her sword techniques.

Yes, she'd known there was a dangerous situation afoot (and, indeed, it was difficult not to, with Vice-Principal Hades being such a melodramatic showman), but Inara had felt the need to buy some provisions and get a last bit of sunshine before she locked herself into the dorms, or maybe the clinic, for the weekend.

She had no illusions about whether or not she was a fighter. That was Gavin and Jaina and John's territory, not hers. Instead, she'd help out where she could, taking care of the scared and the wounded.

Or she would just as soon as she ran an errand or two.

Amber realized yesterday that through her jibber-jabber with her ma on the phone, on the way to town, that she lost a sentimental piece of jewelry. Despite the spirits, she had to get that earring back so she was on her way back to town, searching carefully, and trying to hurry.

The Preserve

Being careful (http://ltcolkirk.livejournal.com/1233.html?thread=1845457#t1845457) meant John was just taking a quick run through the preserve. He'd gotten to the point where he'd determined he would turn and go back, but first John paused to gulp down some water.

It wouldn't do to get dehydrated in this weather.

Sam and Dean had listened to the radio broadcast and decided the best course of action for their day would be to try to keep people safe in town. "This isn't quite how I imagined this weekend would go," he said.

Marco had been itching for a fight, so when he heard the radio announcement, he headed out. About five minutes later, he decided that he really wasn't too keen on fighting, but by that time he was well outside the school and on the way to town. "I'm an idiot." He muttered under his breath.

Once her shift was finished, Adah drew in a breath and closed her eyes a moment as she stepped outside, steeling herself for the journey back. It might not have been wise; with her limp and how things might have progressed while she was behind safe walls, she perhaps should have stayed where she was, where she was familiar with things.

Besides, she'd avoided a thousand deaths in the jungle before; she was pretty confident she could make it back to the dorms with the worst of her experience being another shuddering and draining pass from a ghost.

There were two demons chilling outside the clinic. One's eyes were rapidly looking from side to side, as if expecting someone large, blue and God of the Dead-ish to appear.

The other one was tapping his foot impatiently.

Someone this morning had rather loudly declared himself the new ruler of Fandom. How intriguing. This was either performance art of some variety, or a serious change in her new reality.

Either way, it couldn't hurt to stop and pick up her vorpal blade before heading into town. Someone there might know what was going on.

Blair wasn't stupid. Everything going on sounded like nothing she wanted to be a part of. So she was heading out of town. Or at least she intended to. Sadly, she was unable to transport.

As such, with a small satchel full of tennis ball bombs (because it was all she could do on short notice), she was running into town to buy provisions. Like tea.
