Turtle & Canary, Wed., 7/9

Arriving at work, Amber went through her now, so-called routine of preparing the store for customers. She swept, straightened aisles, and made sure everything was just pretty much A-okay.

Then she settled behind the counter with the story Cal had given her to read. Amber didn't know it yet, but she would read these pages throughout her day, enjoying every word, every paragraph, letting it all sink in until she got to the end. And then she would start all over again, feeling feelings that she couldn't quite name.

Especially when Amber is at her 3rd period class.

Having to do sketches in her class (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1814335.html) the period before had made Katchoo miss her art supplies. She didn't have a whole lot of money -- unless you counted that $850,000 in Switzerland that she didn't risk touching -- but Emma had made sure she had enough to get some of the things she needed.

Far as Katchoo was concerned, art supplies were an absolute necessity, so right after second period she headed into town, bought some sketchpads and pencils and what she could find in the way of canvas and paints, then retreated back to the dorms.

She is in a very good mood.

I'm having to leave early this morning and will be totally AFK until early evening; most likely 6-ish EST.
