Magic Box, Wednesday [7/23]
Being that Mr. Giles was away, Andrew decided to take the day and do a few managerial tasks. He pulled out a couple of large, dusty books from under the counter and plopped them down with a thunk. Upon opening the first one, Andrew was confronted with columns of numbers and dollar amounts. He frowned. The last entry was dated clear back in April.
"Time to cook the books," he mummbled, grabbing a pencil and setting about his task. He had no clue what he was doing.
The Magic Box was open!

It was his favorite item to push. Mostly because he had never seen anyone buy it.

She looked around. "You just... sell all of this? To anyone?"

No he's not.
Yes, he is.
"Well, I suppose as long as you're being responsible about it..."
Agnes sighed. "I don't actually have any money. I don't suppose you'd let me just borrow some of these books for a bit?"

He crossed his arms. "You're not like trying to steal them or something are you, and just taking advantage of my kind and gentle nature?"

Agnes straightened her posture and tried to look more imposing. "Yes, I'm a witch. From Lancre, which you've probably never heard of." She looked around the room. "Mostly, I'm good with wart removers, salves for muscle pain, sleeping potions, that sort of thing. But with the ingredients you have here, I could probably make anything you have the recipe for... Probably."

"I'm from Sunnydale, in California. One of my good friends there fancies himself a bit of a witch in training. I mean, Jonathan isn't that great, um, yet, but he lost a bet and now he's supposed to be working on a glamor to make himself look like Timothy Dalton. Can you do stuff like that?"

"Which books were you interested in? I mean, maybe it's something I already own." Andrew had been steadily building up his library.

And what's wrong with being a little irresponsible every now and then?
"Uh... Any of them, really. I don't think any of them are familiar." She shrugged. "The one thing I know plenty about is herbs. I'm kind of an expert on herbs." She'd had to be -- that's what most of the cottage's books were about. "Is there anything about the uses of music in magic?"

He pushed the fact that his love of music and magic had hurt a lot of people to the back of his mind.

"But I've got a few books back in the dorm that might be of interest to you," he added. "You're welcome to come check them out sometime."

"But... The books would be nice. What room are you in? I'd love to stop by and see what you have."

She blushed as she realized that she'd just invited herself over to a boy's room. And Andrew was pretty cute. He's scrawny! And sweet. And funny-looking!
She blushed even more.

"Great! I love company," he said, smiling.
