Worf arrived early and made sure that everything was in its proper order and place before opening the door and assuming his position behind the counter.

Amazingly enough, he looked even more disgruntled than usual.

"Big brother!" Viki chirped, bouncing in. "How are you?"

"Fine," Worf said in a tone that suggested that he was anything but fine. "How are you adjusting to classes and the island?"

"I'm learning lots of things," she enthused, his grumpiness going right over her head. "Mr. Deadpool gave me crayons, and I've got his class later today. And I haven't missed a class yet!" That last was said proudly, because it really was an accomplishment. "What classes are you taking?"

Worf balked a second, not proud of the classes he ended up. They were not the ones he had signed up for and he clearly was displeased with them. "Relationships, kids games and..."

He made a face to show his displeasure.

"Shopping. I am glad to hear you are enjoying your classes. Are you adjusting well to the strange events on the island?"

"I'm sorry," Viki said, picking up a little on his displeasure. "Are your classes at least somewhat informative? Even if they aren't as useful as you might like? And, yes, I am. A little robot this weekend told me that robots don't eat ponies, and I spent last weekend in Turtle's body and so wasn't me, but wasn't her as well."

"I had switched bodies as well," Worf said gruffly. "It was an unpleasant experience. And my classes are... informative. Just not the information I need."

"It was very confusing, the being and not being people all at once," Viki confessed. "But it wasn't a bad thing. Just odd. And someone told me, I think, that there's something useful in any bit of information."

Worf let out a short sigh. "I'm sure there is. However I don't think learning how to meet human women in karaoke bars is going to advance my academic knowledge."

"I suppose..." Viki admitted. "Unless there's ever a mission that you need to do that for! And then it'd be useful, right?"

"That... would be very rare," Worf assured her. "And hardly productive for someone like me."

"What kind of missions would you get then?" she asked curiously. "Important ones, I bet!"

It was fun. Plus, Cal, taking an afternoon stroll through town to kill his lungs with small and purchasable cancer sticks, didn't have anything better to do besides more writing, so he stopped into that weapons place to bug Worf.

"Cal," Worf said evenly. "How are you today? Are you here to meditate?"

"I'm okay," Cal answered, shrugging a little before considering Worf's second question and glancing toward the meditation room. "I didn't come here with that in mind, but, I don't know, maybe?" If he tried, he knew it wouldn't last long, but if Fanbutt was serious about teaching him that chakra business, he could use the practice in being less restless. He shook his head, though, shaking the idea out. He could barely sit through church; he wasn't going to be able to sit through meditation. "Mostly just came by to say hi, see if you've been up to anything interesting."

Worf frowned. Interesting was one word to describe his encounter this weekend.

"This weekend revealed some... interesting elements to my stay here," Worf replied. "I now know the identity of my enemy who placed me here."

That quirked Cal's eyebrow. "I didn't realize it was an enemy who put you here," he commented, although he figured that, considering Worf's general reception to the place, this enemy was a pretty effective nemesis.

"I was unaware of his exact identity until yesterday," Worf replied. "A Starfleet officer attended the convention this weekend. He is apparently a fellow crewmember of mine in the future. As it was explained to me, I was moved out of my timeline instead of going to the Academy as I should have been. He is also the entity who turned me into a cat."

Cal rubbed his fingers through the hair at the back of his neck, as if he could find a better response to the information there than what he found at the tip of his tongue. "Wow," he said, "that's...some heavy stuff. You gonna do anything about it?"

"For the time being I am stuck here," Worf said gruffly as he unconsciously clenched his fist that was on the counter. "My hope is that the officer that was here can somehow affect a change in my timeline to return everything to normal otherwise... my main goal is to not turn back into a cat."

"That's an admirable goal," Cal assured Worf with a nod after taking a moment to think about exactly what to respond with. "And, uh, good luck?"

Cal released a grunt that matched his expression, half between ennui and disgust. "It's coming along," he said. "Worked on it a bit last night, but it's been slow going. I'm reaching the end of this particular project; it doesn't seem to want to get finished."

Or, rather, he didn't know if he was ready to finish it; he glanced around the room slightly, all those guns on the wall. If there's a gun on the wall, it'll go off in the fifth act, and here it was. Act five, but his better judgment screwed up the curtain pulleys.
