Turtle and Canary, Monday (7/28)

So, the island was in another new place, and that was pretty cool. What WASN'T cool was Sokka having missed the robots entirely because he was locked in his room trying to come up with a master strategy for defeating Ozai. Which still needed work. He kept stealing glances at Bob and Liz, in case one they decided to do something all cool and robot-y.

Oh, and also there was that shelf that had appeared near the front of the store, half full of jars of something disgusting and half full of AWESOME chocolatey... things. And a sign:

WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA!
50% off all Vegemite and Tim Tams

Today's Squishy flavors: Bruce, Bruce, Grape Bruce (to avoid confusion)

John had some shopping to do in preparation for his attempt at cooking. He gathered the ingredients required for spaghetti and paused in front of the Tim Tams and Vegemite display.

"Vegemite? What might it do?" He asked, not sure what it even was.

John took the jar and sniffed. "Ew! No way this would taste good."

"Is this stuff popular here?" John wondered. "Makes me worry about their chocolate."

"Yeah? Giving samples?" John smiled.

Turtle drifted in for another Squishy after a long morning of hard labor over at the project sight before heading back to the school for her class, tilted her head at the sign which she couldn't decide was a brilliant strategy or a stupid on, and then considered today's flavors.

"So...What's Bruce taste like?"

Not that she felt she could ever trust Sokka's tastebuds, but it felt like an important question to ask.

Turtle nodded; apparently, this explanation seemed to make perfect sense to her. "Bruce, then, please, Bob," she said, giving the SquishyBot a proud pat on where her shoulder would generally be, and it went to making her Bruce Squishy.

"So, what's up, Sokka?" she asked, as she waited, and, since the wait was never very long, punctuated her question of idle chatter with a sip, and then a relieved expression since Bob did, in fact, get the right Bruce.

Turtle arched an eyebrow. "How the heck'd you manage that?" she asked. "I even had two of them coming in Saturday. One bought out about half the store and the other, I think, had faulty programming. I did send Liz to go check out some of the convention while I was stuck behind the counter; you can check her recordings out if you want..."

Turtle just sort of stared at Sokka. "Did I honestly just hear someone say nothing interesting ever happens on the weekends around here? Or was that sarcasm? Please tell me that was sarcasm, Sokka."

Jack needed a grape fix. "Grape? Is there a grape today?"

"Grape...Bruce? Why is it Bruce?" Squishybot needs to be making the Grapeness happen.

"Works for me. As long as it's the Grape," he said.
